Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

Unreal Union...what a ride ! Congrats and GL today !

Congratulations, Union! Great game last night. You absolutely dominated throughout. Great day for the ECAC!

Looks like the Dutchmen are in "the zone." Last night was impressive! One gets the feeling that this team might just be something special. The hurdles get higher but the Bennett Boys maintain their stride. ANTICIPATION for the Union faithful is all consuming.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

Congrats to Coach Bennett and the Dutchmen and good luck today.

Watching them last night made me realize what our program accomplished despite losing two at Messa.

Congrats also to the Union Faithful. We might not have had the most fans there last night but we did make the most noise !!!! See you back there tonight.

Just back to the hotel, bruises starting to show from pinching myself.

Unreal...I figured they could beat BC, but not like that. A dominating performance over the mighty Eagles? They certainly decided to peak at the right time.

Still more work ahead, though. Q is still Q and will take another 60-minute effort to get past.

Now if I can just mute Buccigross & Melrose and turn up Dubrey & Unger....

We're about to head for the Dunk and not sure why but my anxiety level is down a bit from yesterday. It could just be exhaustion. However I'm sure the boys are ready for a top effort. Go U!

Wow is this the same Union team that throttled BC last night?

So was theirs apparently, sadly. I was hoping for a great game between the two teams. Oh well, good run by you guys!

We picked the worst time to lay a dud down.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

i think the gm you guys executed yesterday was close to perfect.. might have taken a bit much from the tank. great season, nevertheless.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

Quinnipiac just has it going in all phases tonight. Union has no answer for them.

Great Season Dutchmen .... we are still very proud. Had to be exhausted after that BC win and no sleep. You seniors have accomplished so much !!!! Beating BC was our championship ... and we won it !!!! Hang that 2012 ECAC Championship Banner high in those rafters.

Tough way to finish the season, but I'm still proud of the boys for a great end-of-season run. Thanks and good luck to Simpson, Kyle Bodie, Stuart, Coburn, & Forgaard!

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

Union runs a very good, clean program. There was some frustration on the ice late, but they're (almost) always a team that's hard to dislike.

Congrats on not only a great season, but sustaining your success these last couple years. Union is becoming a model for the other non-ivies in this league.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

Union had a season most teams would kill to have... 22 wins, league title, one win from Frozen Four... but still stings to see it end, especially with such a dud and especially after the high of beating BC on Saturday.

Long wait before next season.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

Just got back to NY after a long ride through what seemed like a monsoon. I'm sick and tired (literally) so I'll make this quick.

Great season for our Dutchmen. For a while there, it seemed like the National Tournament was a pipe dream but this team turned it on when it mattered most. Beating BC yesterday was one of the best games I've ever been to and getting to the elite 8 (what do they call that in hockey?) was a major accomplishment.

All of that being said, it still hurts like hell to be one win away from the Frozen Four and not get there. After the win against BC, I immediately started checking out flight and hotel prices for Pittsburgh but it just wasn't meant to be. Quinnipiac has a great hockey team and after we missed that early opportunity, we never really had a chance. Very frustrating game in a lot of different ways.

Still...3 straight National Tourney appearances, 2 straight ECAC Championships. This has been an incredible few years and I am hopeful that the success will continue. I'm officially spoiled to the point where I will be disappointed with anything but a National Title though.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

I was rooting for Union and Miami so we could bring back three of the four teams from Hartford last year.

You guys have a good thing going over there. Congrats on the run.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 Part II - See U in AC, But Ultimate Goal Still Lies Ahead

Congrats to Union on a great season. I thought the team I saw in AC was as stout as anyone, and they sure looked like it against BC. As painful as last night was for you fans, it was still an incredible run by a top-notch team that peaked at the right time. I think we just had your number this season. Either that or Matt Peca had way too much Easter candy yesterday motning! ;)
