I'm glad we kept the shutout streak alive..

And nobody committed a major penalty while we were getting blown out :D

What the heck was that? We are good but 7-1? Think your guys will be just a little fired up for the rematch at Achilles?
Actually, we are a lot worse at home ....:(

*waits for Dutchman and others to say Sak should have started, should start our next game, is an acceptable D1 goalie, etc.*

Bottomline is Tansey very well cost the Knights the game with two stupid and dangerous hits that led to Union PP goals. Its interesting that despite the changes in Potsdam, the tradition continues of having a big D-man or two that likes to "blow up" people like its the Charleston Chiefs. I don't like the hit on Ciampini and think it was a clear "intent to injure", particularly as he was being hit by another Clarkson player when Tansey blew him up. But I do like having the gift giveaways and 5 minute PP opportunities - nice to see someone other than Union being stupid for a change.

I'll never be one to defend Clarkson, but their arch-rivals 10 miles away did play a game with them earlier in the season where there were zero penalty minutes in the game. I don't think they are as bad as they have been at times in the past, and, Thank GOD, Union doesn't even resemble the team they were when they came into the league.

Haven't seen the hit and am glad Ciampini is okay. Any hit that garners a DQ or is an intent to injure is BS. It detracts from what makes hockey by far the best sport.

Actually, I have given up the notion of goalies altogether and I am now recommending traffic cones ...... :)

Luckily for us, we have plenty of those on defense we can use, namely our captain!

But, hey, we won the faceoff battle again! Pretty cool, right, people who think that is a meaningful part of the game?

For the suffering Union fan...You Tube has a twenty minute version of the U-Minn game. Puts one in a very good mood.

Re: Union College Hockey 2014-2015 "ReUnion 2015? Why "Nott"?

OK, so it's not our best year but some of this is downright embarrassing ....
Goalies
7 goals on 31 shots = .774
Colin = .786
Alex = .765

Colin - 3 goals in 21:50 minutes
Alex - 4 goals in 38:10 minutes

Last 10 games scoring av. 3.60 while giving up 3.70
Last 4 games scoring av. 3.00 while giving up 3.75
Last 2 games scoring av. 2.50 while giving up 4.00

We are getting worse. :rolleyes:

The solution? Traffic Drums !!!! (http://www.uline.com/BL_511/Traffic-Drums) put one of these in goal. Put a helmet on it and tape a stick across the front. You can bring one of these in at any time during the game and they don't need a warm-up !!! :D :D :D :D :D

"You're never as bad as you look when you lose and you're never as good as you look when you win."

Hang in there; Union has good personnel, a very well thought-out system, and in general is a tenacious team. In the long run you'll be fine.

And you'll always have last year. When I find myself in times of trouble, 1967 and 1970 come to me. :-)

When you are on the receiving end of some lopsided scores it's easy to point fingers. While I agree with much of what been said here recently the fan in me is grateful to every player on this squad that played a role in delivering a National Championship to Union College. Last nights score is a memory and until such time as Union is eliminated from the playoffs I will root in hope this team can still get it done.

Anybody know what's going on with Sebastien Gingras? In his last eight games, he's an unbelievable minus 10, and has played a big part in several losses. I know he had an "all-around body injury" (about which Bennett responded angrily to Schott). He looks okay physically, and he's a smart guy, but he just looks lost and disinterested.

Hockey Trivia ....

RPI, Cornell, St. Lawrence, Colgate and Western Michigan all had, thus far in their 2014-2015 season (non-AHA), the highest scoring game against this ECAC foe. Was it Brown? Princeton? St. Mary's girls high school? Nope ....... it was .......
UNION COLLEGE !!!!

The over/under on breakaways per game for Union opponents now stands at 3 1/2.

I'll take the over.
