Union College: 2021-2022

Per Ken Schott's twitter: [Union Athletics] announces that [Union Hockey] men's head coach Rick Bennett has been put on paid administrative leave as the College investigates an allegation that was received late Wednesday evening. Assistant coach John Ronan will run the team this weekend.

Mark Morris redux?

I am not happy about this. He brought a National Championship to UNION COLLEGE. He should have had a lifetime contract.

Rick Bennett IS Union hockey. It's hard to imagine this program without him.

What did he do that forced him to resign? I haven't seen any details at all.

"Coaching style and practices..." i.e. Mark Morris redux. Snowflakes got him....

As I feared: Apparently a case of "boohoo, the mean coach yelled at me." Don't know what's the bigger problem: The brittleness of some (not all) of the current crop of athletes or the spinelessness of the academic powers-that-be being afraid to make them understand that real world is not all moonbeams and roses.
