Union at St. Cloud, 12/13 & 12/14

Re: Union at St. Cloud, 12/13 & 12/14

I like that format.

If you're going to have games worth 3 points then it makes sense. The NHL just discovers a 3rd point when overtime starts. Why are regulation games worth 2 and games that go into OT worth 3? Come on.

When in conference? Winner gets two and loser gets one in shootouts or OT. Regulation wins in the NCHC are worth 3 points. This game is a tie regardless.

Not quite. If you win in ot, you still get 3.
Only shootouts are 2 and 1.

Re: Union at St. Cloud, 12/13 & 12/14

I missed the first period, heard part of the 2nd on the radio on the way home from my son's game and caught the 3rd and overtime. I thought it was a great third and comeback.
A lot to build on for the second half. Go Huskies!

BTW, I almost lost it when I saw Faragher out that far and then almost gives it right to the Union player. Always have to make it interesting.

Listened to the fine SCSU radio feed online, complete with crowd reactions nearby. Sounded like a great game by two pretty evenly matched clubs who will no doubt be in the mix at the end.

I'm pretty excited for the second half. We have the Gophers in Jan.

Like Parrish and Rich said, Brodz and Benik are taking their game to a whole new level.

The D corps can use Union as a good bar to reach for.

Overall I think this was a much needed test at the right time for this team.

Like Motzko said, we have a lot of things to work on and this brings them out.

Wild win the shootout!

Very exciting game last night and was fun (if slightly nerve racking) to watch. Union was lucky to come out with a tie. Huskies are the real deal in my book, Qpac is the only team I've seen so far that holds a candle to 'em. Good luck until we meet again.

Congratulations, you're an idiot.

Capital District supports two AHL teams, Albany Devils and Adirondack Phantoms, and 2 Division 1 teams, Union and Rensselaer, plus d3 team Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs and I think a D1 or 2 team in Sienna College.

I agree. We were treated to a weekend of great college hockey. The ECAC certainly no longer can be called the "EZAC"--the league has been awesome the past few years. It would be great (and not unexpected) for these teams to meet again this year. Good luck to the Dutchmen the rest of the way.
