Union at St. Cloud, 12/13 & 12/14

Re: Union at St. Cloud, 12/13 & 12/14

Great comeback St. Cloud !!!! Have a great break and see you next year in Schenectady .... if not sooner.

Re: Union at St. Cloud, 12/13 & 12/14

Union may be the best team we have seen this year besides Miami. Much better third from the huskies. The only thing I'm wondering is where that was all weekend.

Why the shoot out ?

Because games finish under the rules of the home team's conference. It was essentially for fun.

And why is this series a microcosm for the season and not the previous 14? Everything we saw tonight is correctable. Let's not be bad losers and crap on Union. They played a great series.

It was hyperbole. It still ought to be cause for concern.

Then go ahead and be concerned.
That's the best team we've played this season and should serve as a good benchmark for what we need to rachet the game up to, which they did in the 3rd.
Stop looking at their name or conference and thinking that we should have destroyed them.

And the shootout was because it was our building and the NCHC uses it.

Union is a very good team. We laid an egg last night. We battled back and got a tie tonight. So we had one letdown game, big deal. Nice long break for the Bois and they will be recharged for the second half. Think about it. If I told you we would be 12-2-3 after the first half, you are telling me you would be concerned? **** outta here.

So when team wins shoot out how are standings points awarded?

They brought it up several times in the broadcast that it's a tie for the NCAA and pairwise. Shootout was just for entertainment and fun.
We had the same thing earlier this year with Bemidji State from the WCHA. I was just hoping Brodz would have buried that one in overtime.
Wild trail Colorado 0-1 with 6 min left in the third. Just tied it.

When in conference? Winner gets two and loser gets one in shootouts or OT. Regulation wins in the NCHC are worth 3 points. This game is a tie regardless.
