Credit to UML. The better team won last night. UML was back to their style of a few years ago. Boring to watch. 'cats lost the face off battle and could not compete in the offensive zone corners minus the 3 large forwards.

Was he the one they acknowledged with a moment of silence last night? RIP Wildcat....
RIP, Bill "Stinky" Munroe. You nailed it with "energy forward," Greg. The 1970-71 and 1971-72 UNH teams were two of my favorites, with forwards like Stinky (Newton), Umile (Melrose), Mike McShane (Wakefield), Loui Frigon (Montreal, eh?), John Gray (Ontario), Guy Smith (Buffalo), Bill Beany (Lake Placid), and Gordie Clark. BU was our biggest rival those two years, as the Terriers went to the FF both years and won it all in 1972. I remember one game in particular at Snively in which UNH survived multiple 5-3 PKs, with Stinky on the ice almost the entire two minutes during one of those PKs, a game that we won. I especially remember that post-game celebration in which Stinky got a huge round of applause when he showed up at the Down Under Pub. 'Dem were 'da days.
My BU-UNH memory from those days is a game in 1972. My girlfriend (now wife) and I always stood in the corner at the scoreboard end of Snively. It was a great view and with the chain link, you could hear everything. At one point in the second period, with UNH up by a couple of goals, Umile got into a scrum with Jake Danby, who was about 8 inches taller than him. The refs came in and broke it up and as Umile skated away, he yelled at Danby, “look at the f’n scoreboard.” If memory serves, BU poured it on in the third and won by a couple of goals.
I believe the first start for Prawdzik. It was time to give Oettinger a rest and it’s just bad timing for UNH to run into a kid who is pumped up to play and a team playing pretty well in front of him. A couple of great saves on the PP but also IMO a few times where UNH was unable to finish.
Story of the weekend...(finishing part)
.As feared, BU is PO'd after getting crushed by NU last night and UNH has no answers.
But they haven’t always been PO’d after losses which has been part of the problem. Many times they have appeared “indifferent.” So from a BU perspective it is great to see.
Yay. Glad they worked it out. Group hug. Sorry having a hard time being magnanimous tonight...
