UNH Wildcats Summer of 2011

Re: Birchard makes TC roster for 8 Nations!

I love the idea of a neutral venue, but not this location. Easy solution - schedule UMass-Lowell away on March 3rd (currently playing home and away with Providence 3/2 & 3/3) and have the event at the Tsongas Center. Keeps it close for your big attendance draws (UNH, the Boston schools), a more centralized location, would probably be a better draw for youth teams, puts some pressure on Lowell to get a DIII women's program (no chance in hell they'll go DI when they almost cut the men's program a few years back), and puts the rent money in to the pockets of a Hockey East school. Opportunity missed here imho.

Except you end up in a 6000 seat facility with 1500 bodies. Doesn't have the same feel as a banged out little barn on the Cape. Plus the costs at a facility like Hyannis will be far less than those at Tsongas.

Where are you going to find 1,500 bodies to fill the rink in Hyannis? Using google maps:

Re: UNH Wildcats Summer of 2011

I watched #2 Brynja Bogan for last 3 seasons. Excellent stay at home D. Great hockey sense. Under-rated. Be interested if she sees some ice and how well she stacks up.

Not so sure a change of heart was the reason.
