UNH Wildcats Official Wait til Next Year...14/15 thread

1998, Maine swept UNH 2-0 at the Whitt, I believe

Excellent! Thanks, Wildshawn. I forgot about that, as we went on to the Garden FF that year, also the year before the database began here on USCHO. Back when Maine and UNH were near the top of HEA each year, along with BC and BU.

I know the oldest listed Join Dates are 1999, but USCHO (and its message board) existed at least a couple of years before 1999. Most of the 1999 "joiners" (and some after) were participants on the previous board.

Just some useless trivia to amuse those who may have wondered. For those of us who stumbled into this place in the early days of the Internet, USCHO was a godsend ... complete with a "Wild West" tinge to this brave new frontier. Posting was a lot more wide open, *feuds* were frequent. Fun times. :)

I remember first hearing about USCHO from Greg when I was on the Hockey-L list serve, which apparently is now archived by someone at UMO, according to responses to a thread initiated here a few days ago. So, I have not been here very long, and did not even know that there was already another snively here, who turned out to be a fellow Durham townie. But, I do remember some of those flame wars to which you speak, especially on some of the weekly game threads of arch rivals. Now, it seems that provocateurs and trolls like Pink Pony are a dying breed.

Biggest, most exciting, hoping there are more win(s) to come BUMP.

Yeppers and no better time than the present! Would like to think (hope) there's a burning desire in those Seniors that can translate right through to the Frosh...UNH is due (and deserving IMHO) to close out the season in fine fashion going into the HE playoffs. Go 'Cats!

Where is Bobo? :-)

Agree with Ref, another fine write up with video clips, Mike. I might add to your points of interest 2 and 3 that all three BU goals in the third were the Terriers' first line against the Cats' third line, so too bad that Umile could not get his first line back out there out there as he had done in the first two periods. I realize that two of those BU goals happened 14 seconds apart, so little time to respond. Anyway, great offensive performance by our third line on Saturday night.

e.cat, I drove right by that McD's on Saturday afternoon, but did see Bobo because I have been boycotting McDs and Murder King for over four decades.

I remember some randon guy out at the FF in St. Paul telling me to forget USCHO and go to Hockey--L. He said USCHO was filled with college student flamers😄 Well, he was right in the case of BC back in the day! Of course I took part in many a flame with BC and Maine fans and some UNH fans too! We're all friends now that UNH is irelevant!

I gave up McDonald's when my kids stopped having Happy Meals!

Bobo was a piece of work. Maybe he was before your day but he used to light up UNH threads for sure.

So what you're saying about the third line is ... They were the best of lines, they were the worst of lines.

Sorry, killing time at a hotel in Fort Wayne.

Hey Aerman long time no see! Sorry to miss the UConn series this weekend and the FOMH event... am not thrilled. Will not miss Merrimack games!

That is too bad. Who will bring the pom poms?

Winnable games ahead. Anxious to see how they play.
