I remember the good old days hanging at Game On and Boston Beer Works then stopping at Sully's Tap Room for a quick game of basketball and beer before watching the #1 seed UNH lose a heartbreak game to some team. Instead I'm home with a 6 pack that cost $9.99 instead of a draft for $12

Wish I had. I debated because whenever I take the T the first game goes forever (see previous posts on BU thread) and then the T isn't running when we get out.

Okay, so if UNH can once again be a league powerhouse and respected opponent on the national scene, how do we get the 1st and 2nd line players that are going to BC, UML and Providi? If UNH is rated one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, and our academic rankings are enviable, especially for its 50th rank for state funding, why aren't these primo recruits coming to campus? I would think that Durham and its location to the mountains, lake's region, and Seacoast far outweigh these other schools unless you're into the city lifestyle.....so is it just Souza doing the leg work? I'm sure that the firm handshake still means what it used to when meeting in someone's living room........but what happens before the kid gets to campus? How does UNH measure up online to these other schools? Website layout, videos popping off the athletic page with UNH's successful teams (of which we have many!), player interviews, why they chose UNH.....maybe this is where we need to strengthen our packaging......let's try and move our discussion to the positives......let's help and get the team's, yes women's also, that we want representing what we remember and know UNH can be! I have been having this discussion with former players.......we want to get UNH relevant again!

Oh for you old UNH fans like Greg and C-H-C, Snivley and Chuck I found a website with old pictures of UNH hockey going back to 1979, most have those annoying copyright stamps but many do not let me know and I'll look up the url.

Not,going to win it this year. His track record is riding the wave of successful programs and, over time, drag them down. The miserable rosters UNH has fielded these last few years were Borek creations.

For some reason Watcher has always been an apologist for Kullen. The fact is that he was a terrible recruiter and ran the program into the ground in the mid-80's. Kullen kept his job only after he agreed to get new assistants. Sean Coady and Wayne Wilson recruited most of those kids and, at the same time, encouraged some of Kullen's recruits to leave. Bob Kullen was under a tremendous amount of pressure after the 1987 season, the reason why wholesale changes were made. Of course Kullen suffered his heart issues and, for the next two years, his focus was on his health, not the future of the program.

The thing that some aren't willing to admit is that Umile was never an Uber recruiter. He relied on others to recruit the players, then he would coach them up,when they got to Durham. This formula worked for the better part of 20 years until it no longer did. In the end, Umile's fault? Absolutely. But let's not diminish what this guy did. Some of you are making Adam Wodon's case.
