Dan, can we afford him and would he be OK with our academic admission and performance requirements? Thanks.
Bad PR. Why would a future prospective coach believe anything from the AD?If BS35+6 does NOT just promote Souza would be a bold move.
Announcers lamenting the surprise that Kohei Sato, a walk on with 16 career junior play goals, was not able to complete the scoring play. Just rotten puck luck, I guess. With any luck, that would have been Chris Miller, with his 18 career junior goals (in three seasons) or a top line guy like Jason Salvaggio and his 20 career junior goals. Or that guys like Joe Sacco, a walk on with 10 career goals, is injured.
And U.Conn gets goal and powerplay.

Better question. Can they afford him? Yes. I'd imagine they could make him the highest paid employee in the state. They've done that before for less return on investment. Will they want to afford him? No, probably not...
I know you're joking about the second point, by IF he did have issues with recruiting/academics - I can say without question Gwoz would pay enough attention to what was coming down the pike. He wouldn't be caught off guard. He'd also fight those decisions like hell instead of just quietly accepting them and tucking them away to use as a chip to excuse future results.
JB is right, Souza is getting the job. Bold by Scarano standards is asking Umile to coach only three more years and pick his successor. But it's nice to dream of even for a moment...
Better question.
I wasn't joking. UNH is very much of the academics is first, athletics is not mind set. I have no problem with this, was wondering if Gwoz would. I suspect the institutional pressure to consistently compete for and win championships was higher at Denver than UNH and Gwoz is a Denver kind of guy.
edit: As much as I have faith in Coach Umile's ability to come up short when needed, this one he will not fail in. Eight winable games (agains U.Conn, Merrimack, 2 Vermonts and a Maine, along with three play in games) and there's no way he comes up short.
Ya think? Sorry. Venting. They're in serious jeopardy of getting swept by UConn (down 2-1 currently and getting outshot 16-1 in the second), they already lost to MC, nearly were run off the ice at UVM (score not withstanding) back when they were playing 'well' and couldn't manage a win at Maine. Northeastern is much better than UNH. Whoever they play in the first round it's likely to be on the road. Missing 600 is a real possibility...
Outshot 17-3 in the second period.
Where have you been, Mr. Robinson? 'cat nation turns our lonely eyes to you.Outshot 17-3 in the second period.

This team has no mojo. Zero.I think that not winning another game this season is a real possibility. This team is really snakebit, taking insane penalties, and likely completely uncoachable now. :-(
I wonder if the players are torn and confused as to who to listen to. DU or MS! Afterall, DU is a lame duck!I think that not winning another game this season is a real possibility. This team is really snakebit, taking insane penalties, and likely completely uncoachable now. :-(
