Re: UNH Wildcats 2015-2016 (Part Two) - Managing Decreasing Expectations

On a side note, if UNH can't put a good product on the ice, could they at least have someone who can sing the National Anthem well? Saturday's singer didn't even know the words, much less the tune. My personal vote is the Rev for every game and a recording of him if he has a prior commitment. Second suggestion - the band and let the audience sing along. The band is actually quite good and, I think, underutilized (I'd rather hear the band at every stoppage rather than canned music).

Methinks the Rev is PO'ed with the program just like most of us, and is scaling back accordingly.

Based on recent disclosures, he wouldn't be the only guy "mailing it in" lately ...

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015-2016 (Part Two) - Managing Decreasing Expectations

I'm all about the band. Save The Rev for big games.

Hobey Baker list is out...Andrew Poturalski is on it, no TyK...fan voting on Facebook. Yes, I've voted. :D Here's the link but I don't know if you have to have a FB profile to vote. Andrew has 19 votes at this point:

I'm disappointed for Tyler...

Apparently, one must have a FB account to vote now. :-(

Too bad! I had my students vote for TvR while we were doing computer lab stuff and can't now...I don't think the fan vote is that critical but it's still fun to contribute for FWIW dept...

Neither one was going to win it anyway, so better for Kelleher to get past the distraction, I suppose.

No clue how he feels about it, just a fan perspective I guess...love to see them give it to a goalie for a change...like Michael Gartieg of QU... And while it's probably true neither would win it I still think he's deserving.

Oh, yeah, that's right. Our UNH superfans, who rarely post here now, had to rent a car one way to get back here in time for work. Hard core, I would say.

Wasn't aware that Hendrickson and Connolly made the trip to South Bend last year

Notre Dame carries 10-game unbeaten streak to UNH:

We just found out it doesn’t make any difference if you’re in the top of the league or the bottom of the league, UNH coach Dick Umile said. You’ve got to play 60 minutes, which we didn’t do this past weekend. We made some bad decisions on who to cover and left people wide open. That was aggravating. It was a painful weekend. I hope it was painful for them, too. I know they were upset with it as well.

In reading the cover story (USCHO) about NIIC the 'Cats will have their hands full. I think their (NIIC) stats pretty much speak for themselves. Great goal tending, 9 guys who are scoring goals, 10 game unbeaten streak... Like them or not in this league we could be in for another long weekend and I hope to be pleasantly surprised...Just want to see them bring 60 good minutes and play like they want it. Go 'Cats!!

Perhaps DU missed that his first line is no longer putting the puck in the net?

There's been some in game line juggling, looking for something/anything from our other 3 lines. Vela seems to be stepping up, but not much else so far. Without any other significant threats it is pretty straightforward to beat us by shutting down the Pots line.

Hopefully the Denver Broncos are not to Julian Edelman what the other HEA teams are to our first line.

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015-2016 (Part Two) - Managing Decreasing Expectations

Boston College could have given its longtime mentor, Jerry York, his 1,000th career win last Saturday night at BU, but a tie left that milestone waiting.
Not that York cares one whit.
“I’m not involved in that,” he said predictably. “We’ve always talked about it being a team sport. We, not me. So it’s just a number to me.
“The early part of my career, I didn’t think I’d make it to 37.”

Well, our little "snow event" has just started here in DC. Hoping the power and internet hold out to watch the game tonight.
