Actually, Kelleher is just 11 points shy of 100 (with a career line of 29-60--89) and is set to become the first Wildcat to reach the Century Club as a junior, since Jacob Micflikier and Brett Hemingway each did so in 2005-06. Trevor Smith and JVR finished their sophomore seasons with 63 and 74 points, respectively, but did not return for a third year in Durham...

Agree. And consequently the team will be worse than this year's squad. Before the game last night I was looking at the stats of both teams. UVM has one double digit goal scorer on their roster. Their starting goalies numbers are decidedly underwhelming. But, somehow, they were able to take the game to the Wildcats, dominating in the zone for sometimes up to a minute. At the other end UNH had little success 5-on-5 and if it wasn't for the two PP strikes when the first line was out there, the sparse crowd would have had little to cheer about. Sure, the UVM winner looked like it had been kicked in but that doesn't disguise the fact that the kid skated down the left wing unmolested or that UVM had countless other chances to score. Defensively this may be the worst UNH team I have seen since the Kullen years. I look for rays of hope (Vela, Nazarian, Eiserman) but even if they shine through it's going to be more than a few years before they get better.

Haha thanks for refreshing my pathetic memory Dan! Heck and I thought I was being pretty cool bringing up the past when I know so little of it... Have to say despite the TyK milestone overall a disappointing night for our 'Cats. Once again UVM out muscled us and we could not answer. Unlike last weekend we couldn't bury our chances. Couldn't clear the zone yada yada yada. Have to say it was refreshing to see the Whitt come alive for the controversial goal. Welp onto tonight. And what..was Jamie Hill thinking?!?!?

Up to the point when Jamie Hill ran Packy Munson twice, getting called once, I though that he was playing well, had some good scoring chances, and I remarked to my STH cousins that maybe Hill could become last year's Willows down the stretch. Not to be; sigh.

UVM may not have any stars, but they have better depth and play much better D. UNH might have survived if they had not forgotten that they are the SMTs.

That's a good point in fact I also thought Chris Miller was showing some decent stuff. Absolutely agree; D wins the games you HAVE to win so....UVM gets the tip o the cap for doing what they do best and that is to play hard hitting, basic hockey that gets the job done. ho hum...

Looked for you under the team photo between the second and third last night; got in a discussion with some other old geezers, who are convinced that Jeff Bunyan hates Umile, hence allowed the kick-in goal. You would think that the Jumbotron replay video would have been enough to disallow that one, but I agree with Greg that our problems run much deeper than that.

One of my STH cousins close to the team says that Pots is getting multiple calls per week.

I will be attending my first Panthers game in Plymouth tonight, but will be at the Whitt next Friday night. Panthers have only one loss in their Div 3 conference this season.

Agreed. They were rolling 4 lines against UML last weekend as well. Obviously Pots, TK, Correale are frequently double shifted. Last night's opening rotation was line 1 > 2 (Pots, TK. Correale) > 3 > 4 > 2 > 1... and then I lost interest.

I don't like the rule, but as it is written, that was a goal.

Good for Hill. Seriously, what the heck, as long as no one gets hurt? I believe it was the second one where it appeared a collision was imminent and he decided, why not use the hip and get the most out if it? It may be a sign of frustration. There were some nice hits by Vela, Eiserman and Correale. After the final flurry and buzzer TK fired the puck into the boards.

The eye test in the first 10 minutes said VT was beatable. Turns out they wanted it more. Very disappointing. The team that put forth a better effort won. I'll be at the Whitt if we host 1st round, but it isn't hard to find a silver lining if we don't.

Generally I am with you, but watching them physically kick the crap out of the opposition, legally or not, would add to the entertainment factor.

Well, if we could do it without getting called for it, I would be in favor. I do not think that Trevor Smith was penalized for flattening Ben Bishop a few years ago at the Whitt, as Bishop stupidly strayed to the side of his cage with Smith already coming in at full speed.

Whoa young man did you get any sleep last night? And I thought I was a late night poster... Anyway who knows about NIIC I'd have to see what they have left etc. haha ask Chuck he's got the skinny on his fav HE team As per the physical stuff Jamie H threw at the gk the only reason it annoyed me was I believe that was the go ahead goal power play. Whatever. I thnk he hustles his tail off every game and I think he's had a decent season he certainly brings energy to the ice and works hard. Rather see them be more physical than not which I think was the diff Friday night. Sat night, much better on that end. I thought there was a better than average effort from the team personally and they are gonna need it going into BU...
