TvR should have stayed for his senior year and become a Rhodes Scholar?

haha Snively! At this year's hockey banquet they had one of their professors speak about the academic abilities of this team which was quite funny at times...TvR was said to be the "smartest" (They were all "pretty smart" according to this prof with TvR being the "smartest"!). TvR...sigh. Still smarts. Welp, time to get over it eh? Looking forward to see what this year brings for him, Goumas, Knodel etc in their AHL/NHL bids!

Probably the professor of the one course in which TvR got an A- instead of an A; and a couple of Hockey East players pulled 4.0s? Unbelievable!

Bump. Gotta keep this thread from disappearing, and ahead of the BS36 thread in total posts.

If we can get this one over the finish line to the start of the new season, it will have served its purpose. :)

Hey there Chuck/ maybe come up with a creative new thread name...hmmm...

But, gotta get this thread to 1000 posts first, as the ultimate testament to a great thread is to have a line drawn through the title with (1000) or higher at the end, right?

I'll play along and keep the thread updated.

Glad to see Winnik in the eastern time zone, not to mention on the same team as JVR

board isn't closing threads at 1000 posts anymore, so don't hold your breath.

According to Jeff Cox of SB Nation, former UNH Captain Patrick Foley has resigned as assistant coach of Northeastern.

Admittedly not knowing the nature of his issues with Coach Madigan ... I'm still tempted to say it's to Foley's credit to disassociate himself with that schmuck. Hopefully this paves the way for his eventual return to Durham. Timing-wise, it's probably not something that could happen in time for this coming season, but given the experience he's compiled elsewhere, and how Coach Umile raved about his leadership qualities as a player (and the not-so-coincidental overlap of Captain Foley with arguably the apex of UNH Men's Hockey just over a decade ago) ... you know it makes sense, make it happen ASAP. :)

Because Foley is a UNH guy, I'm sure you can't possibly conceive that things might have been the other way around. It is interesting to note that Foley "resigned" from his job, 7 months after his first child was born and without another position lined up.

As for your crudely worded description of Jim Madigan: Just how well do you know the man that you are willing to describe him that way. Is it because he argued vociferously about what turned out to be a disastrously erroneous call by the referrees in the last playoff game? Have you even met him and had a conversation with him?

Excellent! If we can tick off some more fans from other Hockey East teams, we should be able to reach 1000 posts before the season begins. Crunch time!

Also, need edgy stuff, like Lanny Gare-isms, such as "I would rather be stabbed in Lowell than a black bear in Orono."

hmmm...I guess I don't go that far back like some of yas! :D At any rate I am sure the others on this board could fulfill your request! Eventually I will have a "past" with UNH Hockey too! ;)
