Re: UNH Wildcats 2014 Post-Season Thread: "Maybe Dick" Hunts the Great White Whale

Thanks, Darius. It looks like the athletic department is finally offering reduced pricing for some season ticket holders...

"NEW special pricing starting at only $145 is available this year for UNH faculty/staff members, UNH alumni, parents of current UNH students, military personnel, senior citizens (ages 60+) and youth (ages 3-12). All current season ticket holders who qualify for special pricing are urged to contact the ticket office before paying their invoice so that a new invoice with updated pricing can be created."

Oops, probably means no Jumbotron for this season.

There is also a new purchasing policy for former/new "all sports ticket holders" to purchase men's hockey and football as a package .... as opposed to "all sports"

$145 for season tickets? Sounds like they're pretty desperate to put people in the seats......

Sounds good to me though

Men's Hockey Season Tickets On Sale Now

"Also new this year, season ticket holders will receive four complimentary tickets to a UNH football game of their choice, excluding Homecoming, if they renew before the Aug. 31 deadline."

Seems like the athletic department is doing whatever it can to make season tickets more appealing this year.

So, does this include "old" and "new" season ticket holders?

That's a good question, Snively65. Based on the wording they use, it's not abundantly clear. I would think it would apply to all possible season ticket holders (i.e., old and new). However, we all know that the athletic department hasn't always used the best wording to get their point across ;)

I was easily able to get the alumni discount. It's nice to see them give a break to season ticket holders and people involved with the school.

Re: UNH Wildcats 2014 Post-Season Thread: "Maybe Dick" Hunts the Great White Whale

I called on Monday. Told them we were UNH alums and that we were newbie season tix holders. Not a problem. Will probably buy soon gotta decide if both of us are getting a ticket as hubby is not able to attend many games past January...

ps: Asked if we had to prove our UNH alumni status and was told "no, we take your word for it". ;)

Fantastic! Sounds like that "other thread" may be paying some dividends.

RPI blog Without a Peer post about UNH http://www.withoutapeer.com/2014/06/know-your-enemy-new-hampshire.html

I have no connection to WaP except as a reader.

Thanks for sharing! A fairly objective overview of our upcoming season...which we all await with GREAT anticipation, am I right? ;) Looking forward to the RPI game at home this season!!

So, UNH holds the all-time series advantage 25-21, but RPI has a couple pieces of hardware (1954 and 1985) that UNH does not have.

Surprised that they mentioned Warren Foegele but not Shane Eiserman as a potential NHL pick by the time the two teams meet.

My favorite all-time Engineers player is Joey Juneau, who earned a B.S. degree in aeronautical engineering during his first three years at RPI (1987-1991), without being able to speak any English on his arrival, eh. I think that he took all of the courses for a M.S. in AE during his senior year. Pretty smart guy, although he was scammed for millions, as were other NHL players, by the Wall Street bankster Phillip Kenner. By far and away, Juneau's best NHL season was 1992-1993, his first full season with the Bruins, when he scored 102 points on the left wing with Adam Oates and Cam Neely. Oats and Darren Puppa were key to RPI's "record" 30-game Div 1 winning streak (three games were against the Univ of Toronto), and their NC in 1985. One of the Bruins worst decisions ever was probably the next season when they traded Juneau for Al "the Planet" Iafrate, who would only play 12 games for the Bs. Juneau now lives in Kuuijjuaq, northern Quebec (look it up on Google Earth) and teaches youth hockey to Inuit. How cool is that?
