Re: UNH Wildcats 2014/2015 - Wait 'Til Next Year!!!

Thanks for the blog post, Mike. Looking forward to your Omaha game 2 post, which may be my last access to the internet for the next couple of weeks, but we will see about that.

After seeing the reference to Jamie Hislop on page 133 in Dave Hanson's book, in which Jamie was playing for the Cincinnati Stingers and Dave was playing for the Birmingham Bull(ies) in the WHA, I looked up Jamie's stats again, which are not too shabby.

UNH, 72-73, 5 + 16 = 21 pts
73-74, 21 + 35 = 56
74-75, 28 + 38 = 66
75-76, 23 + 43 = 66
totals, 77 + 132 = 209 pts

Stingers, WHA, 3 seasons, 61 + 102 = 163 pts
Nordiques and Flames, NHL, 5 seasons, 75 + 103 = 178 pts

ANY ride of Nesbraska is nice. One nice thing about Omaha is that you can literally walk to Iowa from there ;)

Sorry about your C-130 Snively65. That ***ks

I suppose;)

Yup, winning "some" one goal games would be huge. Winning just one would be huge, actually, as all UNH's wins this season to date have been multi-goal wins. Only the win over Northeastern would have been a one-goal win, but for a late UNH ENG to pad the margin.

Beggars can't be choosers, so any win is a good win at this point. But until this team learns to compete in AND win close games, you can forget any chance of UNH winning even a single post-season game - regardless of round OR opponent.

Happy New Year to everyone at USCHO!! :) :)

"That's for sure" reference Snively65 post:)

It wasn't a cup. It was some bull**** rock called the Riverstone. I never got the significance either. Some slime covered pos they pulled out of the Merrimack I guess.

I read someplace tickets are $12 for NH residents. Oh boy. I think it's also being broadcast on NBCSN as well. UNH owns DC when it comes to football...not so clear cut in hockey. I've seen some good games and some bad games from a UNH perspective between these two schools over the years there in Manchester. So we shall see.

Apparently, "it" was/is(?) both a riverstone [sic] and a cup. Also, nice table showing the long-term UNH-Dartmouth football rivalry on this Wikipedia link.

I was at the football game in 1973 (I was UNH class of '73), UNH's first win against Dartmouth. Sitting on the visitors side of the field with my girlfriend and her father who was a Dartmouth professor. It was a memorable game despite the low score 10-9!! Smiley faces are in order here:):D

I was there as well. Pretty sure that was the game where UNH's only TD came on a 107 yard kickoff return.

No way! You don't look that old on your show with Mazz!;)

I was there with my father and my brother. Don't worry, I rained on their parade. I still complained all the way home about how poorly the 'Cats played, how lucky they were to win, and how much trouble they were in when they finally faced a good team.

Can't win for winning around these parts!!

FWIW, my girlfriend's father complained about how poorly Dartmouth played too!!

Heard it already but it's worth another listen. She is steamin' like a fresh cow turd!

Growing up in Jacksonville, Fla I had many aunts who talked just like her. hmmm..apple doesn't fall far from the tree eh? :p Actually while I might get a lil excited about the games I'm not that bad...(if my hubby were here he'd be like  )

Ah...thanks for the call Phyllis...have another couple of Red Bulls and your autographed Cam Newton Auburn jersey is on it's way to you....

It's a religion down there apparently.....

Hey, I just noticed that our team, without leaving the practice rink the past 48 hours, has catapulted (heh, heh) into a 38th PWR tie with Holy Cross (can anyone find the "Who is Holy Cross" thread in the archives?), and in doing so leapfrogged over Bentley.
