UNH getting their 4th PP chance of the night midway into the 3rd period.

Re: UNH Wildcats 2014/2015 - Wait 'Til Next Year!!!

Michigan kills the penalty ... just under 7 minutes to go, UNH still down a goal.

Re: UNH Wildcats 2014/2015 - Wait 'Til Next Year!!!

Minute and a half left, still down a goal. Time out, UNH.

Meaningless stat of the night: 3rd period SOG's - UNH 14 Michigan 8

Michigan 2 UNH 1 @ final buzzer. Good weekend split for the 'Cats. Can't wait to see 'em in action next weekend! :)

Re: UNH Wildcats 2014/2015 - Wait 'Til Next Year!!!

This is a strong point for us, particularly tonight, with a YOUNG defense, freshman keeper Clark... and a 5 min major:

The Wildcats remain perfect on penalty killing this season, stopping all five opportunities that Michigan had. They are now 12-for-12 through three games.

ps
25 mins in the box tonight...not something we'd wanna get that good at. ;)

UNH and fans- thanks for coming to Ann Arbor. Really- you guys have a great progam, and it's a real treat to play you.

It's great that our coaches are friends.

Lets do this again!

If you had told me in August that we'd be 1-2 in 3 road games against two top-10 teams with two close losses, a frosh goalie with a 2.00 GAA, 12-12 on the PK with a slew of frosh blue-liners, and a team that seems to be creating scoring chances, I'd have signed up every day, twice on Sunday. 😀

Well said!! They are only going to get better too. The PK performance is particularly impressive.

Classy post, alfablue. I had hoped to get back to Yost this weekend, as I was there three years ago when Bentley visited for two and about 60 Bentley fans held a tailgater in one of your parking lots before the Friday night game.

We have both been on this forum long enough for me to ask this question ......

I know it probably is not of your doing but when/how/why did UNH Blue become the royal blue used in your "GO BLUE/GO UNH COLLEGE HOCKEY RULES"

.... the drive thru Campus now looks like Walmart is having a sale ....... so much for tradition.

Not sure the when/how/why, but from Communications & Public Affairs ( http://www.unh.edu/cpa/web-standards-and-visual-identity-guidelines ):
UNH Blue
Official University Blue is based off the Pantone 287 palette, which converts to hexadecimal value: #003591, or RGB value: 0 53 145.

<font color="#003591">A sample of text written in UNH Blue</font>

Also ( http://www.unh.edu/main/communications-summit-resources ):
UNH Blue:
Since the early days of the Internet, color value #000066 (hexadecimal code) has been used as a web safe equivalent to convey UNH Blue (Pantone 288). This is actually an inaccurate depiction of true UNH blue.
True UNH Blue is better defined as a palette than as a strictly defined value.
Approved hexadecimal values of UNH Blue include:
<font color="#002566">#002566</font> <font color="#002C77">#002C77</font> <font color="#002156">#002156</font>

<font color="#002156">A sample of text written in a shade of UNH Blue (#002156)</font>

EDIT: A browse through archive.org brings up this page from June 2001 listing UNH Blue as Pantone 288 https://web.archive.org/web/20010602191224/http://www.unh.edu/publications/identity/

Thanks for the question Sonar. I just used the color scheme provided by USCHO when creating a signature.

You bring up a good point regarding the Walmart effect though. Somewhat tacky looking. Maybe a little sage could add a more natural look!! ;) :)

I remember hearing Coach U say that these young kids "listen better"...😉 Think about it; this team has 3 draft picks, a core of veterans... the rest are hot off their junior seasons mixed in with guys who haven't proved themselves yet in their college careers. (No offense meant; they have been waiting for their chance) so you've got some hungry kids pushing each other in a positive way vying for spots. They have rallied around and embraced our goal keeper. I think we have a positive team
climate here- the team has come to play in all 3 games. Yeah it's early yet but very, very encouraging! Onward 'Cats!!

It is USNH blue. UNH blue will always be very dark, almost black, navy . Blanket shopping in the bookstore last month, a helpful employee escorted me to the logo blankets. Available in grey, pink :o, a pastel or two and according to the employee, "black". Checking the tag, it was "blue".

Nice start for the 'cats. A win vs. CC would be sweet before 2 with UML. CC is 2-2 with home wins against 0-4 Alabama-Huntsville and home losses to the 3-1 fighting no-longer-Sioux. They face BC the night before playing in Durham.

Speaking of UML, they beat and tied Quinnipiac this weekend. Agosta had 2 goals and an assist.

Re: UNH Wildcats 2014/2015 - Wait 'Til Next Year!!!

My concern is that purported USNH Blue is showing up all over the UNH Athletic sites. e.g. I listened to the UNH/Michigan games on the Michigan feed .... guess what color blue was assigned to UNH .... bright blue. It has even seeped into the UNH Athletic web page. Take a look at the "decorations" at the football field .... don't look like dark blue to me. The sage would only cover up the insult to tradition and what that dark blue means to a lot of people .....

Re: UNH Wildcats 2014/2015 - Wait 'Til Next Year!!!

The official colors of the University and used by the athletic teams are UNH Blue and white. UNH Blue is a dark blue matching Pantone color 287.[4]
