Re: UNH Wildcats 2013-14 Season Thread

FWIW- The Cornell Goalie was the MVP of the Florida Classic Tourney. Knodel was voted to the All Tournament Team. Looking forward to the weekend with UNO.

Re: UNH Wildcats 2013-14 Season Thread

Ya. They are in perpetual la la land. They probably think they're going to win it all this year! Talk about groundhog day;)

Nah, I seriously doubt that, but this friday night against the Q down there we really see if we're baacckk and ready for prime time, huh? Besides, we have experience at winning it all and dont really need to be drooling over the prospect like some neighbors to the west. :D

Pros and cons of the coaches aside (and while conceding that Leaman and Bazin are the two hottest coaching properties currently in HE, let's not forget that neither of those guys has yet attained anything that Coach Umile already hasn't) ... I'm not sure either of those schools have better hockey facilities than UNH. Sure, Providence is upgrading, but let's not get too giddy over a revamp of Walter Brown Arena South. As for Lowell, the facility itself is fine, but I don't see it being any better than a "push" with The Whitt.

Just trying out my New Year's Resolution for 2014 to be more positive :) :) and less negative. :( ;)

Aw heck Chuck you tell it like it is without venom...sure sometimes sarcastic but it's obvious to me you (and many here I suspect) have high expectations on this storied program and I'm not sure that's a bad thing...keep on rocking it and I have appreciated and benefitted from your thoughts. Like you shared with me when I first came onto this board "be a fan on your own terms" and that's just what I have done. ;) Let's Go Cats!

Happy New Year everyone!

I dont know what the other facilities for the respective hockey teams on campus are like but to me Tsongas is a nicer facility by at least a few lengths (and they serve beer:p).................AND you can actually walk to your car without standing in line for 20 minutes:eek::)

We park behind the 'Whitt in the upper parking by the former New England Center...a short jaunt and seems to always have availability ;).

Thanks for sharing..good for Eric and no surprise on the MVP...unbelievable esp in the Maine game..

And, you are gloating on our thread because.......???.....you find your own thread so insipid and boring?

What have you done? :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Sterlippo (et. al.), don't believe what you read here, there is NOWHERE else to park but in the lot across from the fieldhouse. ;)

Just do not try to walk across the active train tracks; use the bridge instead. The steps are usually ice free, but bring your ice creepers if an ice storm is in the forecast.

Oops newbie mistake...glad to delete! Guess my overly helpful nature got the best of me 😝 And not to mention the past 7 years of driving on that campus with two kids going there ...a few parking tix later ...just lost my head for a second. 😱

Re: UNH Wildcats 2013-14 Season Thread

When I decide to gloat, you'll know about it. Nor do i see anything boring about our thread, not boring to me....to the contrary

"Goaltending has surely been key, but it is the physical conditioning and work ethic instilled in this years team that is carrying them. Its one thing to minimize goals against , but its always important to put the biscuit in the other guys barn.:)"

Borrrrr-ing, and bad grammar. :)

Pretty cool that JVR was selected to the US Olympic team! :D

I always root for JVR (40 games, 15 G and 15 A for 30 pts), and Phil Kessel, too (42, 20 and 18 for 38), except when they play against the Bruins. The two of them may be Team USA's best scoring hope. How cool would it have been to have JVR, TVR, and BVR all playing for UNH at the same time?
