UNH Wildcats 2012-2013 Postseason Thread

Re: UNH Wildcats 2012-2013 Postseason Thread

Hearing there are only 6 of those $10 student ticket packages left, not sure how many were made available but good to hear there has been demand for them.

I worked at the New England center while I was in school at UNH. Fond memories of that place. Great prime rib carved at your table. Sunday brunch was awesome. The renowned architect (insert any name you want here:)) designed the place. It was designed to blend in with thle natural surroundings.

Fixed:)

Re: UNH Wildcats 2012-2013 Postseason Thread

Honest question to UNH fans, I saw DeSmith end of last season/fall of this season and he looked unbeatable. There were other issues besides him, but he was giving up rebounds, not covering the short side this January/February. Am I wrong in thinking he's partially for blame for the second half letdown? His numbers still respectable, but no where near first half. Certainly other issues, but he was one...Any reasoning for UNH fans who saw more of him than I did which was 5 games in person.

He does seem off in the second half. I have seen several games where he has been a little off angle and a little back in the net. Also he has a bit of a preoccupation with the puck behind the net.

I think some of these issues were created by poor defensive play. Several goals scored from bad play behind the net and now DeSmith seems to have an itch about it. Same goes with angles, when the goalie doesn't trust the D he plays a little back and a little center to not get beat back door. All tiny issues that point to a down turn in play.

If the team plays a smarter team D game (like pre-thanksgiving) and stop doing dumb things with the puck I think they will be fine... were 2 weeks off enough time?

At least Denver is less likely to have a wrestling match on ice. Trying to win every game 1-0 is my least favorite style of hockey (looking at you Notre Dame and Lowell).

Here's more information on the northeast regional:

http://unhwildcats.com/sports/mice/2012-13/2013_ncaa_northeast_regional

It looks like Game 1 between UMass-Lowell and Wisconsin will also air on NESN at 4:30pm.

The UNH Fan headquarters will start at 6:00pm at Margarita's. If I have a day pass on Friday, does that mean I can leave the arena after Game 1 to go to the fan headquarters, and then go back into the area to watch the 'Cats game?

No re-entry, if you want to go to the pre-game festivities at Margs you have to skip the Lowell-Wisco game.

Re: UNH Wildcats 2012-2013 Postseason Thread

Is UNH the only team not to have skated in games this past weekend? Games of consequence as well? So the other teams having known it was win or die, are more hyper and sharper, on their toes....just putting out an observation, not setting up an excuse...if UNH plays the defensive game they can, and I mean defensive in all zones, they will win. And yes I agree with the previous comments on DeSmith so he does have to up his game as well...

No, DU did not make the Final Five losing to cc the weekend before. So we are in the same boat.;)

6 sided building, one for each New England state.

True. But it went way beyond that. All 6 NE colleges were using the school as a hotel management major - study site. They all put money into maintaining it. As schools like UMass built their own, it ended up being no longer financially feasible and ended up closing.

But back to hockey . . .

Re: UNH Wildcats 2012-2013 Postseason Thread

Hopefully they can get the crowd in to it and will the Wildcats to victory. Good to hear the number made available was that high.
