I understand that line of thought, but we all know that the vast majority of the time there isn't enough time to get the goalie off and get the extra attacker meaningfully into the play. When a goal is scored on a delayed call, it's more likely to be something done in desperation when under duress, like a D cross-checking someone at the top of the crease but his team gets scored on anyway. The thinking under the traditional rule is that you've already scored your extra attacker goal -- why should you be allowed to score two EAGs for a single 2 minute offense?
Score and time remaining please![]()
Cough. As I was saying. Led directly to the game tying goal. TOG 8:13.Would be nice if we could win some faceoffs. Haven't seen the official stats, but it seems as though Maine has been winning at least two thirds of them this weekend.
The sort of thing that kills you come playoff time...
Mike Borisenok puts UNH back up -- off a muffed catch by the goalie? Evidently not a thing of beauty, but I'll take it.
Now 9:09 left, 4-3 UNH.
No. No delayed call when the breakout begins.Am I understanding you OK here? It wouldn't matter if your opponent busted out toward your net if you were the team enjoying the delayed call -- the moment they touched the puck, the whistle would blow. And if you were stupid enough to commit an infraction yourself while enjoying a delayed call, you'd simply have matching penalties...
So umm remember when Maine was known for having great
Goaltenders?
Sorry, but not knowing th chorus to Bob Segers "Old Time Rock'n' Roll" after the last guy nailed Sweet Caroline... tough act to follow!
I wish they'd move the speakers out so if you're sitting in the front you can understand the announcers...
