UNH vs. invading Confererates Our attempted rebound from the cluster---k at Harvard

Re: UNH vs. invading Confererates Our attempted rebound from the cluster---k at Harv

PS: Given the competition (who as I said, I honestly feel for) it's ridiculous for our announcer to claim that UNH played its "best game of the year tonight".

Good night Dean 9'ers booy...

Amazingly, UAH hockey's official website already has a very thorough recap of the game on its website not long after the game ends: http://www.uahchargers.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=116&Itemid=245

Hats off to them. And good luck to all their players, and their coaches, in the future.

Chargers Fall Hard at New Hampshire

DURHAM, N.H. – Dropping its final game of its Thanksgiving road trip to the Northeast, the UAH hockey team fell 9-1 at New Hampshire on Saturday evening. The loss drops the Chargers to 0-14-1, while New Hampshire improves to 6-6-2.

After the Blue and White surrendered a pair of goals within a span of two minutes at 13:33 and 15:42 of the first period, the Chargers cut the lead in half. With less than two minutes left in the frame, Sebastian Geoffrion scored an unassisted goal while the team was shorthanded.

The shorthanded goal was the first of the season for UAH, and it also marked Geoffrion’s first tally on the year.

The momentum was halted, however, by the hosts as they again struck twice in rapid fashion in the second period as they notched goals at 3:11 and 5:50. The Wildcats added two more goals in the middle period, and they scored three additional times in the final period to produce the 9-1 final.

On the night, the Chargers were outshot by a 37-21 margin as C.J. Groh picked up his first start in goal this season, registering 28 saves. UAH was 0-for-1 on the power play, while the Wildcats scored on two of their four tries.

UAH will return to action next weekend at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., as the Chargers will take on Nebraska-Omaha.

One other thing -- UAH has had its share of better seasons in the past. Hmm -- winning a game after being down 4-0 in the first period? That IS "unthinkable. :o

With Ross' last chance to win a tournament title as well as the first-ever win on national or regional television for the Chargers, UAH came out and did the unthinkable spotting Robert Morris a 4-0 lead in the first period. A pair of early goals in the second period made it a game again and a third Charger goal pulled UAH to within one of the tie just before the stanza drew to a close. The comeback Chargers then pulled even in the third period and brought home the first CHA Tournament Title in school history with a short-handed goal in overtime to advance to the NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Championships.

...

2009-10 turned out to be another special season for the Chargers as UAH won the final CHA Tournament hosted in Niagara, N.Y. beating hosting Niagara 3-2 in overtime in the tournament finale. The victory claimed the Chargers’ second-ever berth in the NCAA tournament where UAH faced top-ranked Miami in the NCAA Midwest Regional in Fort Wayne, Ind. UAH again played a solid game on the national stage with the Chargers falling 2-1 to the Redhawks
