Re: UNH vs Dartmouth at the Vee 1-16-10

So what's the general consensus these days of the UNH regs about this UNH squad, anyway?

The outlook has been considerably more cheery post-Wisconsin, then it was pre-Wisconsin. The offense looks very good, the defense has been getting better as the season has gone on and Foster, although shaky, has been holding his own.

A bit of jekyll and hyde... good when the play HE... but ??? when they play out of conf... usually not good, though. Not sure why. The team is very fast and has some good finishers. As long as they don't forget about the back end, they are extremely good. When they don't hustle on D, it can get them in trouble and they tend to stand around and watch (like they did vs Wisco and Cornell). Overall, it is a team that is pretty highly skilled.. and that sort of team can always be dangerous.

Cool, that's about how I figured it too. Not as bad as they seemed up until mid-November, and not quite as good as they've been running lately. The Cornell game did not surprise me at all, although I don't think it's particularly telling.

Start of the third.

The way the whole conference is shaking out, we might not have a good idea of what to expect from the Cats in the postseason until the very last week of the RS, against BC.

UNH playing like donkeys to start the 3rd... only a few good Foster saves keeps this one at 4-2.

UNH kills off the DC PP as McCarey is back on the ice... he was off for interference at 3:58 into the period.
