UNH @ RPI, Tuesday, 11/24/15

Re: UNH @ RPI, Tuesday, 11/24/15

RPI was skating easily through the neutral zone in the early going, still enjoying a lot of attack zone time with the forecheck, and UNH is struggling to get the puck out of their own end. Just ugly so far by UNH, and only Nazarian has shown me any flashes so far.

Midway into the first period, UNH frankly fortunate to only be down 1-0. :(

UNH finally showing some signs of life - may have been the senior line? - but couldn't finish in close. Eiserman takes a dumb penalty.

Re: UNH @ RPI, Tuesday, 11/24/15

Decent pressure and several chances in the latter half of the 1st, but nothing to show. Pots had a shorty bid stoned.

We just never truly look in control. We can't seem to "slow the game down"... Seems frantic.

It's the most unbalanced UNH team I've seen in the Umile era. Literally a one-line team.

Misleading stat of the evening: SOG's after one, RPI 11 UNH 10.

Almost exactly the same description applies to the first period that I just watched at Agganis. :-(

Re: UNH @ RPI, Tuesday, 11/24/15

Tirone needs to sit down. 3-0 RPI. After a dominant 2 minute PP with Poturalski/Kelleher/Correale out there for the whole penalty, when somehow they don't score, DT gives up a softie on a rebound behind him on the doorstep.

Ugh.

Nice! that's two points for Pots, let's get a couple for Kelleher and we can call it a successful night!

Re: UNH @ RPI, Tuesday, 11/24/15

That was a quick turnaround ... after DT comes *thisclose* to leaking an embarrassing 4th goal, UNH grabs back two quick ones on a delayed penalty, and the resulting PP. RPI 3 UNH 2. Still feels like a mirage, though.

Is it wrong to take pleasure in seeing BC ahead of "up and coming" UConn 4-0 after one period?

Not if we will be battling for home ice again in the HEA playoffs.

Bentley out-SOGed 32-6 after two (down 2-0), so unless BU is a lot better than UNH........... but maybe Bentley will be able to generate more O on the big sheet on Saturday night?

Re: UNH @ RPI, Tuesday, 11/24/15

UNH has a chance to get something out of this one, but it's going to require (1) Tirone getting past whatever is bothering him, and (2) someone(s) from the other forward lines to get something going on the attack for UNH.

Re: UNH @ RPI, Tuesday, 11/24/15

Poturalski with the hat trick ... 3-3 early in the 3rd after finishing off the PK. :) :) :)
