UNH-Maine 3/8/13

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

Poor turnover from Henrion leads to a ME break-in and they hit the post. Back and forth action, but ME seeing more sustained pressure than 1st period.

1-0 ME. 4:53 left in 2nd.

And Maine going to PP. Hooking on Pavelski.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

Maine is moving their feet more, UNH trying to rely on moves too much. Move your feet, move without the puck.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

End of the second period. 1-0 Maine.

More up and down action in the 2nd period with Maine seeing more sustained offensive pressure. Should be a good third period.

Wonder if UNH uses the Providence/Lowell score as motivation at the intermission. Come out, win this third period, and we control our own destiny for HE title.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

Don't know if I'd call it boring, as both teams are top five in Hockey East defensively and can make good offenses look average. Definitely frustrating for sure watching Maine block shots and break upasses, but that's what solid defensive teams do. UNH has had their chances, just need to bury a couple.

Well boring to the casual national audience viewer not used to watching college hockey. Yes for me its frustrating to watch, UNH has the speed and the better skaters they need to use that to their advantage.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

Providence with a big 3-0 win on the road at Lowell.

BC and UVM heading to OT tied 4-4.

UNH getting help from the rest of Hockey East, now time to capitalize at home in the third period.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

UNH going on the PP early in the 3rd. Tripping on Norman at 3:25 of 3rd.

1-0 Maine.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

UNH already with multiple bids on the PP and ME chasing the puck. Oulette covers up a rebound, UNH still on PP.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

Big penalty kill for ME as UNH was buzzing in their zone the entire PP.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

Beattie gets the goal after DeSmith stuffs initial wraparound.

2-0 ME with 10:00 left in game.

Re: UNH-Maine 3/8/13

And now a UNH penalty for interference. This is getting ugly in a hurry.
