UNH Hockey Off Season Thread 2026

Could there be hope that the goofy fatty font finally goes away? Believe it when I see it. In the meantime, I'll continue to hate it...
That would seem to be a "low hanging fruit" relatively inexpensive opportunity for the new AD to freshen things up around an increasingly stale program.

I agree with you, Chuck, but really doubt it's even on the new AD's radar; most likely he isn't even aware of the dislike for the "fatty font". Regardless, they never seem to listen to fan input anyway. So RC, if you're listening, let's revamp the unis.

How far has UNH Hockey fallen??? Apparently to Page 3 of the D-1 Forums ...
Slow last week or so I guess… I imagine they will name the captains pretty soon though? I imagine there will be some discussion on that.

Also opening night for UNH football. Losing 21-7 at halftime… hopefully they can turn it around in the 2nd half.

At least soccer won earlier this week!

Marty is captain that’s a given. It’s probably 3 assistants to keep the seniors who had it last year and Fitzy. Not a lot to discuss

Planning on making my first visit to the Whittemore Center this season on a Saturday.. any recommendations for a pregame meal or bars.. prefer places that will have some good pregame atmosphere.. thanks

If you like burgers, check out the Hop and Grind; it has a small bar. Libby's is the old staple for pregaming. Both are located downtown, a relatively short walk from the arena, but could be a cold walk depending on when you visit. As far as finding a "good pregame atmosphere", good luck with that; those days are pretty much long gone.

The best bet to find "Good Pregame Atmosphere" and "UNH hockey" in the same place is to search on YouTube. Has to be some videos from 10+ years ago. :)

Hey all happy Fall! Must be getting close to hockey as I have booked the UVM trip (said I wasnt doing that haha) and am looking to.go to QU if I can find any tix? Not sure they are on sale yet?

Busy Summer new grand baby joined the herd (Charlotte future Wildcat field hockey standout) so we are thrilled to have 2 now.

Welp...got the scare of my life last night when I didnt see our seasons tix and was told they havent been released yet? Honestly last year as been abit of a blur could not remember even getting them...😵‍💫 looking forward to seeing what we've got looks like a challenging few games to open the season but bring it!

If you are a 1st timer put it on Charles Murray’s tab.

It is a tradition.
"Charles Murray" is my dad, and he's no longer with us, he sadly left us all just over 10 years ago.

I know you're just trying to bust chops/stir up some activity, but here you stepped on a rake.

We can both do (much) better. If you delete yours, I'll delete mine ...

Sworn enemy of the perpetually offended?

Does anyone know why Niko Tournas went back to juniors this year instead of attending UNH? He's apparently committed to come in 2027-28. He's a 20 year old goal scorer, at least he was in the Q, and UNH needs scoring more than any other team in Hockey East. Seems odd that he went back.

Someone on here speculated admissions issue. Doesn't appear to me to be a player interested in the college experience. I'm interested to see how he does at the B's development camp.
