UNH @ BU... Game 2... 3/10/12

Re: UNH @ BU... Game 2... 3/10/12

Got me. They kept talking about it maybe coming off Gill's hand, but every angle showed it clearly off the stick well off of his body.

Now this next review could be more interesting. What was the call on the ice?

Call on the ice was no goal.

Re: UNH @ BU... Game 2... 3/10/12

It was bang bang with the net coming off and the puck going in, and the net moving had no bearing on the puck getting past DeSmith. I've seen that same play ruled a goal plenty of times.

Re: UNH @ BU... Game 2... 3/10/12

It's basically the "tuck rule" of ice hockey... the call is technically right, but it was designed for a different situation and the true intent was never to waive off this type of goal. If you ever tried to get that waived off in a pick-up game, you'd need some new friends.

Oh I agree, or you have to call delay of game on the goaltender. He knows what he is doing.

I thought they modified that rule.... That a puck that was already headed in is a goal. IIRC, that's why Parker's teams stopped pushing the net off its pegs.

2:58 gone in the third, and BU with another penalty, Gill for HFB. UNH to the PP.

2-1 BU

Did they? That's certainly how I'd like it called.

Nieto scores! I love the sound that made off the crossbar. :)
