Text message from Gibber says try WGIR 610 if you can, he's got it on in his car. Doesn't work online from what I can tell, but if you're local...

Re: UNH at Merrimack 02/12/11

After the brutal officiating last night, I'm glad they took the time to sort it out rather than taking the easy way out.

No such luck. You guys missed it with the radio feed down, but the major for kneeing was only the start of the "payback" attempts. And Timmy let it happen.

After UNH tied it up, MC went after Desimone. Along the boards in their zone, one Merrimack player gave Desimone several cross checks to the head. No calls.

Immediately after, there was an obviously intentional leg check on Thompson. Clearly a "You took out our best player, so we're going to take out yours" play. No call. Thompson made a point of letting the ref know his displeasure on the way to the bench, which is what caused the "too many" penalty. Dumb play on his part.

Merrimack then began taking runs at Thompson. No calls.

The Borisonok penalty was off the face off, where he supposedly planted a Merrimack player on his back. Right. High stick? Really?

Then late in the third, a Merrimack player basically body slammed a Unh player to the ice, right on front of the ref. No call.

And Merrimack fans have no leg to stand on when it comes to fan reaction to hurt players. When Digi went down, he smacked stick on the ice in obvious pain, and the Merrimack students behind him cheered.

Re: UNH at Merrimack 02/12/11

unh took a too many men penalty...while on the power play.

that is the kind of stupidity that costs you games.

It was a dumb play. As I said, it occurred after a blatant leg check on Thompson with no call. He took his time going to the bench to let the ref know what he thought, which caused the penalty.
