UNH at Denver - Saturday 11/24/12

Re: UNH at Denver - Saturday 11/24/12

I think the only place Black Betty isn't played is at UNH men's games.

What....the fact that UNH is too politically correct?
The DU folks will know the WCHA details on this, but speaking of trying to apply political correctness to hockey...

Wasn't there an attempt a few years back to keep North Dakota from calling their team the Fighting Sioux -- and the Sioux Nation said they actually liked (and felt honored by) the name? Am I recalling that correctly?

DU has the PC Police, too. A fraternity had a Cowboys and Indians themed party, and had to apologize attend diversity classes for their insensitivity.

Only half the Sioux nation approved. The NCAA won. The Fighting Sioux nickname has been "officially" retired
There was even a ballot initative to require UND to keep the Fighting Sioux

Actually, both of the required tribes had given their approval. The NCAA chose not to recognize either.
And even more thanks to you -- appreciate that. Evidently the NCAA knows what's in their best interest better than they do?
