UNH 2025 Offseason: Where in the World is MS7?

You are confused. I have completely bought into your thinking.

Even though you have extremely limited evidence to support you argument. I just touched on it once... WMU recent national champion is now my poster school example. Lawson 40 years old with minor renovations vs Whitt 20 years old with minor renovations. WMU hockey budget less than UNH hockey budget. The gap between WMU hockey budget and UND, the largest in NCHC is much greater than budget gap between UNH and BC. WMU new arena 100% private funded, it is more akin to Tsongas built for City of Lowell than the Whitt and still makes my point. However am going to bow down to your superior knowledge in all thing government funded, business and rich people finance.

In short you are brilliant I am ignorant.

My question: If you are a UNH fan and if lobbying is so easy, I just want to know when you are meeting with the powers that in Concord to get it done.

PS - if you look at my prior posts I have indicated I think education is the best investment in the future (with the exception of do you want fries with that degrees). I am completely in favor of everybody in NH giving an additional $50 a year to be solely used on education, ~$70M. So there are 2 voters in favor Mrs. JB fully agrees, us that as part of your lobbying.
I can concur JB is barely hanging on by a thread. If we were all as smart at Corky we would be hanging a banner in October.

With the current roster / line up.

Your best guess...

Over/Under 13 wins (this years total)
Over/Under 9th place in Hockey East (over gets a fake home playoff game)
Slightly over on the wins - let's face it, folks - this year's team underperformed

I will also go with 8th and the MBPBEGAM round home game (loss) vs. #9 seed (Scotty Borek's Merrimack Warriors)

I am taking the over on both and think they could get as high as 6th. We have a strong group of forwards returning. The 4 CHL's plus Cronin should bring increased professionalism to the locker room and on Ice. IMHO the biggest issue will be finding a 1A goalie to pair with Whale. Kudos to MS7 for keeping the transfers to Conmy only, a win (holding breath for 18 more days)! Happy to be discussing hockey. (Forever Optimistic)!

20 wins?

Snives, are you okay? Do we need to send the Thornton police to do a wellness check?

I am fine; just using reverse logic that I learned two years ago when I predicted single-digit wins and we won 20 (yeah, I know, thanks to Helsten). So, if we are held to single-digit wins this coming season, maybe that will lead to a generous donor stepping up and buying out the last year in MS7’s contract.

While the rest of us are playing checkers (and potty is playing pick up sticks), Snives is playing 4-D chess. Kudos, my friend!! (y)

New Long Island HC Brendan Riley picked up 4 solid transfers from the AIC group today. Impressive what a new, energetic coach can do.
Brendan Riley only has three years experience as assistant coach at AIC, but good hockey coaching pedigree as grandfather coached the Gold Medal 1960 US Olympic team, father was Army’s head coach for 20 years, and brother is coaching in Div 1. Although LIU lost 6-1 to UNH early this past season, the Sharks went on to win 20 games. Why cannot our team win 20 games in a season? Oh ….. wait …….

As is often the case with college student reporters, the writer clearly didn't understand what he was writing about and didn't know the questions that needed to be asked from administration. But the key is UNH is going to experience crushing cuts - especially if the state legislature has its way.

UNH's tuition is already the second to lowest of any state school in New England. Only Maine's is less, if I recall correctly. UMaine is in Orono, which has much lower costs and a lower standard of living than the Durham/Portsmouth area. Accordingly, its fair to conclude UNH tuition is the lowest of any flagship state school in New England. If NH is serious about its state college system (btw, it's not), it needs a steep tuition increase. Of course, if NH was serious it wouldn't be in this mess.

So the apple doesn't fall from the tree. Much of the low end thinking that NH taxpayers use to "fund" their state school trickles down to the athletic program.

Maybe Buford and Elwood can convince Joe Farro and his "brother from another mother" business partner Sal Lupoli to fund all of UNH? After all, both are doing business in NH. Why shouldn't both Massachusetts residents fund all of NH higher education? How could they possible resist?

Fixed your post, potty. Like most right-minded Merrimack Valley natives, both have seen the light, and long ago moved their families to New Hampshire.

They are also business partners already on at least two 9-figure projects, both in New Hampshire as well.

Sorry to ruin your hilariously uninformed narrative, potty. Please carry on ...:poop::LOL:

His anti-moron drug probably ran out and someone left him alone with a keyboard.

What I find hard to fathom is that Governor Asleep won't under the rooms and meals tax that Gov. Snooze changed in 2001

For simplicity and not trying to split FY years, here is the R&B revenue since dummy change it to 8.5%. These are the net numbers from what was transferred back to towns and cities

FY21: $334.7M
FY22: $307.2M
FY23: $320.4M
FY24: $329.8M

That is $1.2922B and the 0.5% reduction has cost the state $76M over 4 years. There is $19M a year we can't collect because Asleep at the wheel won't raise taxes 50 cents on a $100 dinner.

Oh and let's not forget the $300M in MET tax issue that the state is being sued for now by the hospital association, which is cash the state needs....

I think that you meant that the NH R&M tax was reduced to 8.5% in 2021, not 2001. I say raise the R&M tax to 10.0% and direct the windfall to upgrading the locker rooms at Towse Rink in the Whittemore Center at the Key Auto Group Complex, and buy out the last two years of MS7’s contract, of course. Any left over cash can be used to replace the carpeting in the Diamond Library.

Deadbeat, er Norbert, so your solution is to increase the costs to food service providers via a tax with a recession coming. Tax tax tax - for others to pay and for businesses owners to absorb. Spoken like the deadbeat that you are. Why don’t you reach into you pocket and contribute?
