UNH 2025 Offseason: Where in the World is MS7?

2026 recruit Geno Carcone finished his season last night as his team was bounce from the USHL playoffs. With a team filled with future draft picks Carcone played on the 2nd line and had 50 points in 62 games which is very respectable. He had 2 asst in the 2 playoff games. One of the better recruits hopefully he makes it to Durham in 2026.It's a shame that some of the better recruits are being hung out to dry another year and human pylons are brought right in...JMHO.

there are 2 things that please me about the Conmy transfer. First, his skills will be used for many victories at BC. Good for him. Second, your ignorance of hockey will be proven once and for all.
Well, if nothing else, this establishes that Potty is really a BC fan, who's been posing as a UNH fan in bad faith for the last several weeks.

Also explains Potty's utter disdain for (and disrespect of) the late Mr. Morin's clear decision-making process with his estate.

All that, plus a blatant disregard for the sanctity of confidential sourcing, makes for quite the combo meal ...

Well getting players in the transfer portal typically means actually talking to them. Since I now under the impression the head coach is a selective mute, it makes it hard.
MS7 apparently only talks to people when his contract is up for renewal. I thought we'd established that already?

To be fair, I wouldn't give a rat's @$$ if he never spoke to anyone in the portal, if only he took care of his own business at a proficient level, and convinced his own guys he could make them better players, all while building competitive teams that won stuff. Portal should be there for tweaks, not your go-to team building strategy where you swap out your failed recruits for someone else's failed recruits.

When you lose one of your best players to the portal, though, that's a bad sign ...

Crockpot...

You could be recruited by BC to ride the pine as a 60 yr old transfer who can only skate with double runners, leveraging your God given skills to chirp the opposition and still win 25 games. Of course, you'll be rendered academically ineligible within a month for failing your remedial coloring class.
Glad to see you squeeze this comment in before your speech to the UN later today.

Come on Chuck Nico DeVita was an impact player out of the portal..lol

Excellent summary, Chuck, and I so miss those mid- to late-1970’s teams, even if I was mostly following from afar, except when I was home for a month in December/January.

Here are some other bits of UNH alum trivia from this season:

JvR leapfrogged Rod Langway into first place in NHL/WHA games played, Brett Pesce leapfrogged Bob Gould into fifth place for NHL games played, Warren Foegele leapfrogged Dave Lumley and Jay Miller into ninth place, and Casey DeSmith leapfrogged Eric Boguniecki into 24th place.

Foegele should leapfrog Hislop for eighth place next mid-season, TvR should leapfrog Bob Gould early next season, and both Pesce and TvR should around next mid-season leapfrog Steve Leach who is fourth in games played. So, we have some UNH alums from the first 15 years of the millennium making strides in the NHL, but now we have no one from the last 10 years in the NHL pipeline, as you note.
Foegele is going to be doing a lot of leapfrogging in the years to come ... I believe he's 29 now or soon, and he's continuing to improve year-to-year, now in his first year with the LA Kings. He's broken into a top-6 role on a very good team, and has already topped last season's career highs in goals, assists and points, all while leading the Kings with an eye-popping +36 on his plus/minus. That +36 currently stands as a tie for 4th (with Artturi Lehkonen) overall in the NHL.

I watched the Kings dismantle the Oilers in a late game the other night. Watch out for those guys in the playoffs BTW. Foegele is the finished article, two-way left sided player who can score and bang, skates well, and fears no one. And to think, as a soph, he had to watch MacDonald-Smith-Gaudreault (smh) ...

Oh Buford, while I'm tempted to tell you to focus on eating your daily slice of watermelon with your tooth, because that takes up much of your time each day, I shall address your post. I must regretfully tell you my loyalties are number 1 to UNH and number 2 to BU. BC isn't on the list.

I really got under your skin with the Morin comment, didn't I? LOL. You hate to be called out for what you are - an underemployed GOP wannabe with no dough. You're the type of stupid that doesn't know what the government actually is while personally benefiting from it's largesse.

As for your " confidential sourcing", the voices in your head caused in part from an infection attributable to eating under cooked wildlife are not really "confidential sourcing", are they? But nevertheless, please keep them confidential.

If your loyalty is to UNH then why do you degrade everyone you talk to on here? Maybe take this crap to the cafe because it's getting stale.

I save my powder for phonies like Buford, Elwood, and Norbert (hereinafter "BEN"). I poke Grouchy, because, well, he's Grouchy. BEN though are the self appointed spokesmen for UNH hockey and view this board as their private space to say whatever they want. I'd call them bullies but they are simply too dumb. So I bust their chops more than a little and point out their stupidity when appropriate. It will get boring at some point, I suppose.

Grouchy has considerably more in the intelligence department from BEN, a low bar to be sure but...... he's a bit more fun and he's caught on to me a bit. BTW, there are some excellent posters here. Kudos the Dan, for example. . Hockey Ref, too. And Sparkee. And there's more. I enjoy your posts too, Mr. Balin, and don't mind you're poking at me. After all, how could I? I'm anonymous.

It's hard to believe that Jack Sadowski only has one goal all year after all the hype. He was hurt earlier in the year and got shipped off to the BCHL. Hopefully he can find his way next year and become the player most of us thought he'd be.
