UNH 2024/2025 Goldberg Edition

If you follow CHC he just posted an update regarding Jared Whale from MS7...day to day at this point; skated some this morning. Doubt he will
be ready for the weekend and I'm looking forward to seeing how Rico does against the River Hawks...
Regardless, wild to think this is the last weekend of the regular schedule. If you are going to UML do look HR and Mr. HR up. We are sitting in section
109 (at Tsongas).

EDIT: from CHC: Coach Souza at yesterday's press conference:"The expectation is he'll be in net on Friday and hopefully replicates what he did last Saturday."

Also concerned about certain UNH forwards that might enter the portal in a couple of weeks.
Mrs. Grouch and I were just talking about that last night. Prevailing wisdom is that Conmy is gone, Lavins will get a sniff and that the twins and Player will go elsewhere.

Conmy especially; I'll be very surprised if he hangs around...esp after what I'm reading from a Kings follower blog.

Meanwhile, I recall a derogatory post several pages back about some athletic department funding used to support alpine skiing, or something like that. Well, hang a banner at the Whitt for first-year Jayden Buckwell (Collingwood, Ontario) who just won a national championship in slalom at the NCAA’s on Wednesday at Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, NH, the first NC for UNH since 2018 by UNH HOFer Elle Perrier in track and field.

I thought it was more like a complaint about 50/50 raffle splits going to the "general fund", instead of specifically supporting ice hockey.

Good for the ski team. Wonder how nordic crew did on the new Oak Hill snowmade trails?

Leaving UNH with exactly what??? Gosh, next season's gonna be a beaut, goosebumps I tellya ...
No worries. Next September I will predict single digit wins again, like I did two years ago before we won 20, which led me to predict 20 wins for this season, which easily could have been single digit wins had we not been front-loaded with so many OOC cupcakes during first half.

UNH is a magnet, alright.

But, instead of the program and coach attracting talent, it does the polar opposite and it repels it.

Assuming defections in the portal, will the Canadian transfers be the solution or another temporary reprieve, albeit on a greater scale, to Helsten?

Conmy maybe, depends on who offers him a spot. I don't see Lavin's or the twins moving on. They are not a "name" like Conmy is plus I believe there are scholarship restrictions that can come into play.

In the scouting community, Lavins' stock has SOARED

They will (twins) if they get cut. Pine bros...

Amazing the contrast between the records and the attendance of these two clubs. What was it that Winnik so infamously said?
