UND at SCSU: Which goon will cheap shot Marvin first?

Re: UND at SCSU: Which goon will cheap shot Marvin first?

Just checked Ticketbastard.... Nothing available on Friday. SRO still available for Sat.
Just called the hockey center. They haven't even started selling SRO tickets for Friday's game because regular seat tickets are still available (not many though). Saturday does still has SRO left.

I haven't been able to find it on my lineup. I think too many people enjoyed it and Comcast couldn't figure out a way to charge for it so it was yanked:D

That sounds about right. Greedy thieves!

Re: UND at SCSU: Which goon will cheap shot Marvin first?

Article in the Herald:

http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/150719/

“This weekend is for Chay,” Zajac said. “We’ve got to be playing for Chay and we’ve got to get those two wins for him.”

Getting two wins — not revenge on Marvin for the illegal hit on Genoway — was the common theme among Sioux players this week.

“We put it, more or less, behind us as a team,” Zajac said. “We’re looking to get two wins this weekend. Those other things settle themselves out in the end. Right now, we’re going to get two wins and play good, consistent hockey and get ourselves rolling.

“There are times you want to retaliate and do something back, but this team is bigger than those moments right now. We need to get rolling and get on the right track. Winning these games is more important than retaliating at this moment.”

Malone added: “We want to do the right thing for Chay, but the team comes first, always. I don’t think anyone is going to put themselves ahead of the team and let their emotions get away.”

Defenseman Joe Gleason said: “The whole thing with Chay is upsetting, we miss him and he wishes more than anything he could get back here with us, but our goal as a team is four points and we’re going to do whatever we can to get that done.”

Re: UND at SCSU: Which goon will cheap shot Marvin first?

From that same article,

McLeod did say that the league will start considering lengthier suspensions for flagrant hits, though. The WCHA’s standard has been handing out one-game suspensions, which is what Marvin got for his hit on Genoway.

In contrast, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, in dealing with two recent illegal hits to the head, suspended one player for the entire season and another for 15 games.

McLeod said that the NCAA had a conference call after Marvin’s hit on Genoway to clarify the rule and another one with the league’s teams to warn them about a crackdown.

“(Longer suspensions) would definitely be a consideration after the warnings,” McLeod said. “Knock on wood, we haven’t had to deal with another one and hopefully we don’t.”

All for them increasing suspensions for those situations.

1st grade my ***. http://www.addictinggames.com/50statecapitals.html Take that, and tell me the number "perfect", the average miles off, and the amount of time you took (on the first time you take it). I'll divide any number of perfect states you get by 2, as well as average number of miles and times it by 2, and then add 1 minute to whatever you say, and we'll be good to go.

I know this wasn't aimed at me, but I did this anyway, 'caus it was fun...43/50, Avg error 8 miles, 3 min 51 sec

Agree, because if this weekend becomes a hack fest the WCHA only has itself to blame. Teams wouldn't be so inclined to seek revenge if they felt the offending player was properly punished.

I think that this is a very valid point... I, like most Sioux fans, am still very angry at the lack of punishment geared toward Marvin. I think if he would have been given a 10 or even 5 game suspension it would have done more to prove that the there is no room in the wcha for this type of hit. That being said, if Marvin is challenged this weekend, he should man up and drop the gloves.

Re: UND at SCSU: Which goon will cheap shot Marvin first?

Those comments work well for Friday night, but what happens if SCSU wins Friday and is up two or three goals saturday?:D The brawl will be on.:D

Which brings up the question, Will the Huskies take off their tea gloves and put down their purses for the brawl? I doubt it.

Personally I hope not. Next weekend is a HUGE series against Wisco and we'll need everyone for those games.

I agree for the most part. I am sure if a Sioux player wants to fight Hepp he will drop the gloves.

For some of us driving down to St. Cloud, we are going the Ultimate Sports bar in Waite Park and take their bus. The Ultimate is one of the places that has the Sioux on TV for the fan base in the area.

Looking forward to a great game.

Which brings me to the question, Will the Sioux take off their helmets for said fight or, as usual, leave them on like pansies?

Have you actually ever seen a fight in hockey? Watching SCSU, I would tend to doubt it. Heck SCSU players are such weenies, they would probably try to put more things on if they ever got in a fight.

Re: UND at SCSU: Which goon will cheap shot Marvin first?

Look...let's cut to the chase here. We obviously have a problem in our relationship and I don't know about you but I'm willing to work on it. How 'bout we meet in Mpls., you buy me a beer and we can discuss our differences. What do you say?

That's the second time you've offered to meet up with me and drink, though I'll admit this invite was better than the first when you offered to kick my ***. Since you're getting more civil... No, I still have no desire to meet your crazy ***.

So Club Bowling at SCSU was one of the deciding factors?

Yes sir.

Anyone actually interested in the games? Anyone going?

Was going to watch them at a bar, but a friend got us tickets so I'll be there and wasted.

That's what I had, occasionally here. And Senser's isn't even a guarantee anymore, as the last time we went there for a Sioux game, Comcast said (at the last minute, literally 10 min before puck drop) they weren't carrying the game.

Well, I guess I'll watch my beloved Gophs on FSN, and scour the update threads.

You're more than welcome to come over to my place. I'm having people over for my birthday and to watch hockey. We'll be watching the St. Cloud game (as long as Charter doesn't ***** out) and the second will be Wild back and forth with Gophers, so you can fight my girl for your game. You've seen her... I think you could take her.

Re: UND at SCSU: Which goon will cheap shot Marvin first?

Frankly, I'm bored with people taking shots at me attending SCSU, especially Gopher fans on here, over half of which never sniffed a college text book. I got my admission letter from the U, but SCSU was cheaper, gave me in-state tuition because of my ACT scores, was a good school for education, was further away from the folks which I liked, and unlike the U had a club bowling team. Little did I know that 9 years later, as an added bonus they'd have a better men's hockey team too. :D

I know this is from a few pages back, but I've met some real characters during my years here in MN taking shots at me for going to a "lesser" school like SCSU, and automatically assume i wasn't smart enough to get into the U. I moved from CA here to go to SCSU specifically for the meteorology program since I didn't get into UCLA (but got into UC Davis, UCSB, and UCSD). My mom lives here so I qualified for in-state tuition, and would have saved a boatload of money instead of spending 4-5 years at a UC school. Why would I go to the U if they don't have the program I want? Plus I got a 31 on my ACT, and 1310 on the SAT, so i just laughed when they called me stupid. Now that i've been here, i'm glad not to call myself a Gopher :) /tangent.

As for this weekend, I have it off, but i'm going to be doing Trivia Weekend so i'll be listening to it through the computer. Normally i'd steal away for a couple of hours to go to the Saturday game (since this is like the 4th straight year in which SCSU has had a home series the same weekend of Trivia Weekend), but our HQ is in Elk River this year instead of in STC. I'll make up for it next weekend by being in Madison for that series :) I'm forecasting (no pun intended) a repeat of the UAA series, tie Friday win Saturday.
