Ya. Teams are allowed to experiment with rules in ex games and UVM apparently loves shootouts, so they use them.

You obviously aren't a fan of college hockey, cuz every announcer on the planet constantly says how much fans love shootouts. I always thought I hated them too, until I found out otherwise.
