In the first game of the tournament at Hanover this afternoon, the River Hawks cruised to a 3-0 lead over a Colgate team that entered the game with a 4-10-4 record.

They apparently then took their foot off the gas, and it came close to costing them, as the Raiders closed the gap to 3-2 before UML was saved by the final horn.

As I type, Army and Dartmouth are going into overtime in the nightcap. UML will play the winner of that game tomorrow for the championship of the tournament.

I guess we can hope that the River Hawks will play three periods against RPI the way they played the third period against Colgate.

It would have been better if school was in session and multiple angles and replays were used, but RPI-TV was using a limited staff.

OTOH, the team wouldn't have been better. :(
