Don't know if I'll be watching as much as I enjoy these season openers between BC and UMD that seem to have become a tradition which I have looked forward to every season since their inception.

Why?

NCHA doesn't have a package/price for only UMD Women's Hockey...the only option is for all UMD sports and at C$130 just to watch UMD Women's Hockey...well...I think they have priced themselves out of the market for women's hockey only fans. Still pondering...maybe select monthly plan purchases.

Might have to wait to read what T-Cubed tells us about this series...not too happy.

Any thoughts on the game tonight? Quite surprised to see the score after getting home from the Gopher game. I know you mentioned Lonergan in the bc thread. What happened?

Nevermind, I just read the wrap-up on BCI...

Monthly UMD pass is US$21.95/C$28.31 but still...that's about 40% more than the last 2-3 years and before that it was US$9.99...so, extremely steep increases...but there's no inflation happening, so that's good to know.

From the wrap I was surprised to see:

"BULLDOG NOTES:
The win gives the Bulldogs a slight edge in the all-time UMD-BC rivalry at 7-6-1, and improves UMD's record over Hockey East opponents to 33-14-5 all-time."

I see that UMD is travelling to Potsdam in November for a double header with CU. That series might prove to be interesting. Love how UMD has been willing for years to play non conference top teams, usually early in the season, adds an interesting flavour to the schedule...especially if they are successful.

Last week it was US$21.95 for a monthly pass with NCHA.

Now, a week later, it's US$29.99 for a month with FloHockey!!!

Anyone know what's going on and what happened to NCHA? And exactly what you are getting for that fee?

OK, that was one weird period of hockey with 5 or maybe even all 6 goals being surprising.

UM 4 - UMD 2 after one.

Would be an idea if UMD tried to play some of the game in the other end.
