UMass@RPI 10/13/18

Re: UMass@RPI 10/13/18

Well tied at 1-1 is better than last night. Seriously, someone better introduce our players to each other as they often do nt seem to know where everyone is on the ice

Team cohesion I'm willing to accept some leeway until we get into league play. But you are 100% correct about this one.

Cohesion? Haven't seen any yet. Especially on the power play as it seems like UMass is ready to break out short handed every few seconds. Too often we appear to be bumpoing into each other and leaving the puck behind.

A lot of the power play comes from them pressing 2, because they want to play perimeter and put only 2 up top. Hence why it's necessary to have more than one PP. Make them guess at how to defend us.

In other news, Union football got drubbed by Ithaca who we squeaked out a win over last week. And Colgate seems to have won their hockey game today again.

If you say so. But to me it looks like a Chinese fire drill. I have seen a lot of power plays in my life and as of now, we do not have one.

Hobart absolutely trampled over Rochester, too.

They are still angry that they have already lost a couple games. It appears in Division III once you lose 2 games you can kiss just about most post season play good bye. We have Hobart next week in what may be a crucial game for any chance at playoffs.

Ever since we started doing that drop pass, it just hasn't looked good at all.

You hit the nail on the head. I despise that move. It seems to just stop all flow up ice and allow the defense to reset a bit. I never understood why they did it and hated it under our last coach.
