UMass at UNH 11/13/10

Re: UMass at UNH 11/13/10

Caught the game on CSN, I was awful nervous on that last drive, but great stand at the goal line (and yes, that WAS a garbage call for PI) to clinch it. Hopefully we finish off Towson next week and find our way into the NCAA's again.

One thing... is there much better than the FCS (IAA) football tourney?? Those games are always awesome (even the ones w/o UNH in them)!

No Chad, they are not awesome. A thousand meaningless bowl games is awesome. This is the NC$$ speaking!!

Indeed. There have been some real corkers. Love the setup they use -- proper way to determine a champion...

Re: UMass at UNH 11/13/10

I was lucky enough to be able to watch it on TV -- even the home announcers were scratching their heads on the key call at the end. Plus both teams took unsportsmanlike conduct penalties at key points in the final quarter -- very undisciplined.

the Dino Vasso unsportsmanlike to start that last drive was ridiculous too. He did NOTHING.

They're not really home announcers, they do a lot of CAA games for Comcast Sports... it seems they have 2 crews, those guys for the games down there and Gresh and Tanguay for the games in new England...

the officiating has been brutal in that league all year in the games I've seen

They just mentioned it on the radio, but thoughts and prayers to the gentleman who was hit in the face with the puck last night. We know him as Frank the Fan, he's 87 and a life long 'Cats fan. He's recovering at Mass General, and hopefully will be ok. That was scary last night.

One other thing -- this team loses to Rhode Island and Maine, but beats James Madison (who beat Virginia Tech) and the reigning national champ on the road. Go figure, and the have-nots have gotten stronger...

Josh, these two they used today were pretty "pro-Villanova" and one of them actually said that he had seen every Villanova game this year. I learn to just tune out announcers now in most every sport. Despite the obvious Villanova bias, I have heard worse this year by a landslide.

ah, fair enough

compared to the McNugget State announcers from last year, no one is that biased ;)
