If you're not taught to catch a pass with soft hands at the pee wee level I don't see how you make it to D1 hockey. Tim should break out the eggs in practice if they're that bad.

watch the D in warm ups, it is pathetic... passes to the skates over and over and over... only 2 of them can "catch" a pass, the rest stop it.

I wish you could have seen the warm ups years ago when Shawn's defensemen could all handle the puck just a little less well than Leveille, now they play like it is a brick and their sticks have no curves. It is not THAT hard to learn softer hands, you practice with a shot put to learn to roll your wrists, you practice with a golf ball to work on speed (and wrist roll)... you practice, practice, practice...

watch Merrimack and Lowell on the PP... you will see tape to tape passing. They are not ask fast or skilled as Maine's players, but they do little things much better.

KIA the only thing I can say about this when you talk about power-play, is last year Maine had the #1 ranked power-play in the country! So obviously last year we were doing much of this right. All of a sudden it is the coaches fault? It is a team effort so failure to at the very least get out of this funk on power play falls on everyone. But for cripe sales we were #1 in the entire country last year on the power-play, all of a sudden they can't pass the puck and it is Tim's fault! They have a better team, and better weapons this year (Diamond was not a weapon until Hockey East) so let's figure it out. And let's play 40 minutes of hockey!

was about to say that maine was really taking it to umass in the early going and as the page was loading, flynn sticks it in the back of the net...

That will be reversed and 20-0 at the moment. Soon to be 14-0.

Yes I am wrong again! Were I a Bears (Chicago) fan I'd be ticked!

UMass announcers says the ice is in terrible condition. If UMass is complaining about it, it must be pretty bad.

interestingly enough, both teams are playing on the same ice ;)

never really understood complaining about conditions that are impacting both teams...

Do you see any difference in Nyquist this year and last on the PP?
any different ability to come from the corner to the front of the net?
Any difference in stick handling last year and this?

you are right, the ONLY thing you can say is that statisitically there is a difference. THEY COULD NOT PASS tape to tape last year either, and I said it then too.
Last year they also implemented a flip flop up top to get one timers on net... have you seen even ONE of those this season?

Last season, Abbott shot HOW MANY shots wide that Shemansky tipped in?
How many have they attempted this season?

this season the PP is Gustav playing too many minutes and not handling the puck anywhere near as well has he did... and TImmy does not recognize that there is a problem, so he does nothing about it.
they are on teh pP now...
still not a single shot from the point that has gotten on net... not one.

you really don't think that is a coaching problem?

I guess 4 Minutemen have had to go back to the locker room for skate repairs. I have no idea what's going on.
