UMass 09-10

Re: UMass 09-10

You can show up to the Coffin. Tickets are reasonable. I forget how much...15?

Tickets are 10 for adults, and 4 for children. I'm not sure what their cutoff for children is, but I am 18 and go to every UMass game at Schneider. Last year I told the lady I was 12 and she kind of rolled her eyes a bit, but I still got the $4 ticket.

Re: UMass 09-10

haha okay buddy. lowell hasn't lost to amherst out there since lowell broke its 20-game winless streak out there, going 3-0-1 and outscoring the minutemen 8-4 since then.

I can't believe I'm defending you but honestly don't waste your time with this kid. His posts are clearly irrelevant since he seems to have no background info on what he is saying, he says that UMass is the favorite at Providence, where they have won like 3 times out of the last 12, and in general seems to be your average UMass student that knows more about cheering and jeering at games than about hockey. I don't like some of the stuff you post sometimes, but honestly at least you can back it up.

your somethin else man. everyone else seems to be fine with wat im sayin. u need to reevaluate wat u say before u get ahead of urself. i wouldnt be surprised if 6000 of ur posts were just rants. bring some facts to the table from THIS year.
Against colgate uml got 3 goals in the third to go up by 1. I guarantee that would not happen against this year's Minutemen defense. Secondly, you really only beat Northeastern 2-1, the third was with an open net. Northeastern is horrible. BOTH wins were at home, so ur in the same boat of uncertainty with road games.
Like I said, talk to me after this weekend at bu and vermont. Honestly when we go to lowell it will be tough but uml shouldnt even bother coming here. calling me an idiot and stuff does not impress me. as the season progresses im sure you will quiet down once u realize the fool ur making of yourself. your attitude just further supports the fact that u got rejected from the only real umass and now u go to uml and the only thing going for you is being a fan of the hockey team.
youve really confused me with ur approach to this thread as it was meant to take a look at our team this year, not for u to rant.

Here's some wisdom for you. Things we know: everything. Things you know: nothing.

A UMass student taking the safety school route. Priceless.

Re: UMass 09-10

I'd be disappointed with anything less than a split. If PC really wants to get out of the basement, they have to beat a good team at home. The offense is better, Beaudry is playing as well as he was when he showed up last year. But they have no power play to speak of, they've beaten one good team (Notre Dame), and realistically, UMASS is a better team. Still, if they play like they have so far, they have a chance...

PC has certainly played well enough so far for a split to be a reasonable expectation. As you said they've only beaten one good team but they absolutely dominated BGSU and all away from home. PC has certainly gotten my attention and I expect them to play very tough in their conference opener on Friday at home. I only hope the UMass players think the same way and they don't throw away a good start just because they didn't take the Friars seriously.

Re: UMass 09-10

Jon pretty much hit it on the head as to how PC is playing thus far so I won't rehash it. The Friars have a much better chance of splitting this weekend then I would have thought going into the season. They have beaten the teams that they should have and split with a better team on the road but now the real test begins against a very good HE opponent.
UMass has a tougher time at Schneider and the Friars traditionally struggle on the bigger sheet at the Mullins Center. I don't see much reason to think that this trend won't continue until one or both teams prove differently.
The Minutemen look very good so far so it should be a great weekend of hockey between the two schools to say the least.
Hopefully some of you UMass fans can make the game @ PC.
Please try to pay more than the kids price if you drop by so they can buy newer stuff for the Coffin.;)
I know that the UMass fan got away with it because they have been hurting for fans over the last few years.:p

And humble. Don't forget humble.

PC91- The scary thing is, I'll take PC's record at Mullins over their records at the Whitt and Conte...

Re: UMass 09-10

ahh folks i think we've gotten the wrong impression of my intent here. in no way can i say for certain what will come of this years team. obviously. and its also true that i have nowhere near as many facts as such staunch veterans such as you would. But simply from these past three games, I am taking as much as I see from the players and im making as good of an analysis as possible.

A win at providence would impress me but it wouldnt shock me either. Ill take it game by game. I wish there was a live stream if anyone knows about it.

As for being a fan that just jeers and yells, that is completely opposite of me as I actually care about each play up and down the ice.

Re: UMass 09-10

Ahh, good to be back...new year, new name, and almost the same team.

I'm currently liking the way we look; our power play looks and feels better than last years team, and it's quite nice to get some power play goals for once. Marcou has played absolutely lights out, and when you have some good looking guys like a healthy Irwin and a new Carzo you tend to have your options. I'm looking forward to seeing if he can get a Hobey tracker on him later in the season if he keeps playing like this (3 games, 8 points, not too shabby). Mullins is rockin this year, granted most are drunk and don't even know a puck from a cheeseburger (guess that makes 1 of me in section S)...7th overall in national attendance can still make it a pretty tough place to play.

So in all honesty, we've started off well per usual, and hopefully it continues :D.

What I worry about probably the most on this team (other than crapping the bed later on in the season like so many other countless times) is that I worry about Daintons consistency. Granted yes he's played relatively well over the course of this season so far and has improved from last season, he's had to stand on his head a couple of times and made some wonderful saves, and I'm curious how long that is going to last.

I'll be at the game Saturday, but is anybody going to PC Friday? I'm currently in limbo pending my cash situation (stolen credit cards suck); if I find it, I will be there.

Re: UMass 09-10

I'd love to go to pc friday but the class schedule is just not cooperating. im looking into a way to watch it cuz im almost certain it will not be televised here.
Like i was telling my buddies, gogglesquad, its all about staying healthy and consistent. Those are the two most important things to keep up this good play.

Re: UMass 09-10

I thought I could pick up something from this thread and one post into it someone starts ripping the thread starter.

The average age and IQ here about....16? I try to come back and each time.....

Couldn't agree with you more, but hey our sisters over there think they're all special now that they actually fill seats with the bandwagon students in the Tsongas nowadays. Last time I was over there I saw...maybe a quarter of 1 section filled up?

Back to hockey, mullinsmaniac I couldn't agree with you more, but the nice part this year is that we have a little bit of depth on the bench this year, and with Langeraap out for a little bit I'm at least comfortable with the fact that we can get different guys out there to do the job.

Re: UMass 09-10

I'm setting the bar high this weekend. Four points or bust. I'd be disappointed with anything less. I'm sick and tired of beating the BUs of the world and then losing to Providences and Merrimacks. Hopefully the team is too and uses it for motivation.

your joking right? id be happy with just 2 points this weekend. ive seen countless games at pc, and umass always finds a way to lose. it isn't going to be easy for them to play on a smaller rink, especially after providence has just came off a road sweep and has some momentum, not to mention they are at home on friday. lets also key in on my earlier comment that umass has won like only 3 out of the last 12 or so at pc. im predicting a split.

scores predictions
friday: PC 4, UMass 2
saturday: UMass 5, PC 2

so wait, lowell has bandwagon students but you're better because yours are so drunk they can't decipher a puck from a cheeseburger? well that makes sense. nice to see a umass thread on here btw, glad you all decided to come out from your cave over at umasshoops.
