Not good, terrible news. Were there specifics about the cause?
Dan Hannigan steps away from radio. That sucks. Good luck to him in his new career

Wow. Legend gone. Ouch, he was a legend for Maine.
Next man up, I nominate Walrus.
Might swear at referees a little.![]()

I'll miss Dan's call of the game. He was enjoyable to listen to and I particularly liked the fact that he was not a "homer".
According to this it says John Shields will likely get the job.

He did games on radio when Dan was doing TV games.

After watching the recent WJC Show Case Tourney in Kamloops, BC....I see the USA squad a solid team but question the goaltending...just a few games played but wondering WHY Jeremy Swayman is not being considered as a possible option for this years upcoming WJC. Swayman was on last years team as a number 3 goaltender and did see action, not much 3-4 minutes in the last game {Bronze Medal game}...but after watching this years goaltending pool, I figure that Swayman would be a ideal choice....having experience the WJC last year...not playing but being around the team. Join in on the topic.
Is he eligible to play this coming year?
Thanks...that answers that question. Too bad as I think he could have been a solid addition...No, '99's or younger only and Swayman is a '98 birth year turning 20 in November...
