Re: UMaine Hockey 2014-15: The Road from Alfond to Boston

Yeah a couple calls so far not going Maine's way.

But they seemed to have an eagle eye on UVM on that 5-on-3 to do the make up thing.

Relatively disappointed on the Maine power play. Seems nobody other than Shore is confident enough to take a shot???

Pass, pass, pass, pass, weak pass picked off and out of the zone... pass, pass, pass, pass, shot by shore and out of the zone.... pass, pass, pass, pemalty on maine, wait two penalties on Maine.

Unreal down two goals and a golden opportunity squandered resulting in a 5-on-3.

W T F

Yeah, I am a UVM fan so I wil be biased of course but Maine just looks slow. Vermont is just much faster to the puck and winning most of the battles in the corner.

3-0 Vermont. Vermont is a good team, and that's what makes last night's loss for Maine that much worse, because they couldn't hold onto the lead and found a way to leave the game without any points at all when they were so close to coming away with 2 points.

Painfully obvious this weekend......some of Maine's players look like they have lead feet......labored "heavy" skating compared to Vermont moving up and down the ice at will.:(

Leen with a filthy backhander to get one back for maine. 3-1 now.

Leen just gave Maine a little spark with a goal. Hopefully they will wake up for the second half of the game.

It may not mean anything to the current players but . . . I hope they show up ready to go v BU next week. This . . . won't do.

Re: UMaine Hockey 2014-15: The Road from Alfond to Boston

Frustrating weekend. Maine is once again slow and simply can't keep up. Vermont killed them with speed. Going to be another long season

Re: UMaine Hockey 2014-15: The Road from Alfond to Boston

Your guess is as good as mine.

But the media scribes on here are thinking Vermont will sweep us. I don't see that happening. I think Maine is better than their record shows and Vermont isn't as good as theirs shows. Yes, their D has been sound, but teams like Clarkson and Northeastern aren't exactly world-beaters. Maine can steal at least one game in Burlington.

Back to the drawing board :D.. that said, the difference for UVM is their D moves the puck very well. Hamilton (ours) has stopped making stupid passes for now. Priveterra is a game changer when paired with Paliotta..

Re: UMaine Hockey 2014-15: The Road from Alfond to Boston

I think your team needs more rich snooty kids. :p

+++

Enough with scouring the tar sands of Canada and the mighty mite New England bantam leagues......Maine needs some blue bloods.......the hockey snots that have been carted around to ice rinks by their parents since they were 3. Do we have to wait until the next decade to get one (Wahlstrom)......????

Is J. D. Dudek playing in the ushl? I assume he is still committed to BC? I just saw where he is currently playing for the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Scheduled for BC 2015-16. Maine recruited him heavily three years ago, but couldn't match what BC was going to give him.

As far as I know nothing has changed. He's with Dubuque and coming to BC.
