Haven't been paying much attention for the last month with Musil not in the lineup. Is there any update on that? (Injury, doghouse, etc.)

Glad to see Rutt quieted some of the critics - including me - on Sunday, but it was just one game. Maybe he needs to shoot more

Congrats on your BC win yesterday! Question: is there a decent feed for Friday night's game? Unlike last year won't be making the trip to Orono...too far a drive with the game being on Friday. Thanks for the info. Hope to see you Maine fans at our house Saturday!

goblackbears.com. At the lower right is a link to the feed, which for the first time really sucked for the UML game . Most of the time it is decent. . 8 bucks. It was so bad for that game I demanded and got money back

Well hopefully the stretch internet feed won't be without sound and half of the video like last time. Its bad enuf to get smacked by umlol, its adding insult to injury when you can't see or hear it to beech about. Anyone know if Fridays game is on wpme in Portland?

Re: UMaine Hockey 2014-15: The Road from Alfond to Boston

Just watched my DVR recording of the game. While it was a great win, and hopefully be a building block for the team, I didn't really think they played all that well. The first period they were horrible, couldn't even seem to make a pass, but they got better after they got that first goal. Still, they were really bad at clearing the puck from their own end, and the defense still didn't give Romeo a whole lot of help. I hope those who say we need a goaltender who can steal games were watching this one, cause this win is on his shoulders.

The one real bright spot was they weren't playing back on their heels in the third, and when BC did score, they didn't fall apart or hang their heads, but went right back at them. That's how they have to play if they want to be successful.

I've only seen 6 Maine games this year, so I've tried to keep my mouth shut and listen to those of you who watch them all the time...

Having said that, they seem to me to have the horses to be much better than their record indicates. Much better.

They should be right around .500 at this point. Gave some games away. I think there are a couple kids that will be good and are starting to emerge. They'll have a better 2nd half IMO. It seems like Shore might be getting healthy and that will help. Not sure what you mean by much better. I think if they can get to .500 that would be much better considering the 1st half performance. If you watch this team in person you can see the difference in speed, talent etc when they are playing a top level team. The D just looks plain lost on some nights and there isn't enough scoring to compensate. Just my .02

Re: UMaine Hockey 2014-15: The Road from Alfond to Boston

They look like a team that should be slightly north of .500 to me, and right in the mix. Small sample for me to evaluate, yes, but I just haven't seen a yawning gulf in terms of talent vs. any other team this season. IMO, the D is making fewer world-class bonehead plays than they did under Tim, and Romeo looks like he's figuring things out.

As you say, the schedule is getting softer. It would be a real accomplishment if Maine could rally to the extent that they finish above .500, but I won't fall out of my chair if they do just that.

Re: UMaine Hockey 2014-15: The Road from Alfond to Boston

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I purchased 4 tickets to the game up at Alfond and because of a death of a friend we will no longer be attending. I have posted the tickets for sale on stubhub at $20 below face value just hoping that we can get something back for them.
