UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Early Hockey East awards

So the top scoring dman in the league won the best defensive defenseman award? Not sure I understand that one.

When you look at the scoring leaders it really shows how down the league is. It’s crazy Nadeau led the league in goals even missing a few games.

Just my two cents, but the biggest thing that killed Maine this year (after goaltending) was special teams. It seems like every blown game started with a power play goal against. The drop off this season could be related to the changes at assistant coach
I don't disagree here. Along with the PPG against, I'd add not scoring on a critical PP to either get back into a game or put a game away.

So which team shows up tonight lol
Hopefully the good one, but realistically I'm thinking the bad one. BC's been down the past couple weeks (4 game lose streak) so that gives me a little more hope, but we could be what the doctor ordered for BC to get going again. We don't have many good results with games that air on NESN this year (2-5-1).

I'm going to be there tonight. I think the two primary keys to the game for Maine will be a) to score first, and b) not take penalties. I saw on the BC thread somebody said that the Eagles have only scored something like two goals at even strength in the last several weekends, I think? They are very reliant on the power play to score, especially lately, and with Maine's PK being mediocre at best, they can't afford to keep giving Hagens, Conmy, Letorneau, and company chances to score with the man advantage. If they can keep it at 5 on 5 and get one early (or at least before the Eagles do), I like our chances.
