UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

iu

Been a tough season but one of their best performances of the year. Thought a lot of the freshmen played well, especially, marques, lipinski and gerrior.

If they played like that all year and I saw the bright spots consistently, I could live with it. However, it’s February and these posts should be the ones I’m making in October and November. That kind of effort is what they’ll need in the HE playoffs.

I really don't know what to say. Maine was the better team tonight for nearly the entire game, put 53(!) shots on net, many of them high quality, and they get one point to show for it. 9th place, going on the road for the playoff game looking likely. Rousseau isn't an amazing goalie, but he at least he dosen't have an entire side of the net thats an automatic goal if you shoot at it. He should play the rest of the way, but I expect the rotation to continue. I think for a lot of the season, the way they actually played on the ice is better than the results they had to show for it. It's like they routinely snag defeat from the jaws of victory. Arnott was good tonight, I think he earned sticking in the lineup the rest of the way.
