UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

I was a 19 YO college student... Way too poor to drink!

My asshole RA - a complete douchebag from Calais - wouldn't so much as let me sleep even in the basement of Corbett Hall just before the dorm opened the next morning, or even in his car. He lived to regret that, but I was on the cold ground on the outdoor rink and slept not at all. (Think Leadbelly's "Black Girl".) Had a light frost that night.

Enough about me, what am I missing re: the van references? Must have been after my time, but it sounds interesting.
It’s from Saturday Night Live… https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv2VIEY9-A8

If anyone is braving the trip to Boston this weekend try to keep safe. Apparently there are roaming gangs of Antifa thugs killing locals, robbing tourists and burning the city to the ground. It has gotten so bad Bubbasucker has said he might pull the World Cup games from Massachusetts over safety concerns. Sure, statistics say crime is down. Sure, the mayor has gone on the news and on podcasts to tell everyone how safe the city is. Sure, media have pointed out that he actually doesn't have the authority to unilaterally change World Cup venues. Sure, Northeastern says the reason it is moving home games out of the city is because of its arena. The truth is out there! Please use caution if you travel to the city. It sounds like a warzone worse than Chicago and Portland combined!

Complete nonsense, I am happy I don't live in your world.

Thanks for the link, and just to get it right, that asshole RA was from Fort Kent, come to think of it.

My apologies to Calais. I had a bona-fide GF from there back in the day. Her dad held a local office, and she was pretty amazing while she still found me amusing.
(Her surname was waaay Irish, and started with a "G".) That's a hint. One of my old Maine pucks is earmarked for the winner.

To get back to hockey, this team needs an on-ice leader such as Harrison Scott, who took the team over both during games and in the locker room. There are hard-nosed guys on this team, but it seems to me that there's not a lot of leadership,

Breen and Brazealle were the true team leaders. Scott was awesome in that he led by effort, high energy level, and example, probably the hardest worker. Last year the team just had an exceptional leadership group.

I feel like the younger players, there is exception of course, think skill can offset just plain old hard work. Maybe at some point or with some teams it can, but to me its still a lunch pail sport. But Im upper middle age :) so maybe thats changing with the sport IDK , just watch nhl pre mid season to see that.
However Barr's preferred culture is to work hard and success follows. Its going to take the veterans to set the pace - every game - no exceptions. It comes hard but it will.
