Ultimate Fantasy Sports League - Are you intested?

I heard this idea on the radio several weeks ago, and I like it.

A fantasy sports league that has 8 owners/teams, that encompasses all 4 major pro sports. Each sport would be run like fantasy sports would be in that league, in a Yahoo Sports format, but all participants plays in all 4 sports, the overall winner is the person with the highest average finish in all 4 leagues.

Is this a good idea?

too much of a long term comittment is my first thought. especially if you only normally play in one sport league.

Re: Ultimate Fantasy Sports League - Are you intested?

So each sport is played like a stand alone league?

Yes. Each individual sport is played by itself, you just average the final results from each league together with the others when you're done, to figure out who is the overall winner of all sports.

The commitment factor is what is worrying me. It seems that every league I'm in, for just one sport, there are several people that don't care by the end of it.

Seems to me fall/winter would be a major headache for those seriously committed. End of baseball, start of football and hockey shortly afterwards. Would the 4th sport be bounceyball or am I forgetting something?

Personally, I could never be able to with my job/time away from home, although it certainly would be neat for those fantasy gurus out there.

It would probably be bouncyball, that is the only other sport that I can think of that I think they play fantasy sports, that makes sense. I don't want to do fantasy golf or fantasy NASCAR.

It'd be more interesting if you had to draft everyone at once.

Otherwise, it's just four separate leagues loosely tied together and a hearty 'meh'.

Hmmm, that would be really interesting....and it would make it really tough to draft, which, in my opinion, is a good thing. Do you draft Adrian Peterson or Evgeni Malkin....:p

When in the year do you draft? I was thinking it would be best to do it before football season, but in this massive draft scenario, you would be drafting baseball players for next season before the previous season is even over, which is really unavoidable.

I like this idea...drafting them all at the same time...
