UConn 2014-2015: Let the Hockey East Era Begin

Re: UConn 2014-2015: Let the Hockey East Era Begin

They've been using it for years when UConn scores. I guess now with the Hockey East publicity someone thought it ought to be somewhat official. I'm fine with it, though have a preference for the actual UConn fight song. But I think I'm in the minority. As long as we don't show up in blue & green instead of national flag blue & white I'm fine though. Can't wait for the home opener. From the sound of things there will be a few people there.

Re: UConn 2014-2015: Let the Hockey East Era Begin

Had the chance to watch the game last night on ESPN3. I saw a young team who played very well in the first period, and desperately tried to keep up in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Robby Nicholls stood on his head and a bang bang play resulted in a OT loss. Not a bad showing for their first HE game...it will be fun to watch these freshman and sophomores mature as the season goes on.
Now for the other good news regarding the new on-campus barn/team facility. In the master plan that was just released the barn/team facility is to be built on the corner of Rt 195 & Rt 275.
Here is the link to the 20 year master plan:

The actual fight song is not very inspiring.

Guess not ... hey, where are you people?
Grew up in a UVM family. Would have been there but it is the first weekend home after being overseas for a bit. Gotta love how the Huskies are competing though. The HE wins will come. Only a matter of time.

Re: UConn 2014-2015: Let the Hockey East Era Begin

UCONN moves on to the Liberty Hockey Invitational with a shootout win against Merrimack after finishing regulation tied 2-2. Waiting on the finish of Yale/Princeton to see who the opponent will be.

Ah, an all CT final in NJ. Gonna shoot down and catch the game, should be a good one!

Re: UConn 2014-2015: Let the Hockey East Era Begin

Big night tonight. Brian Leech and Todd Krygier to drop the first pucks. How appropriate. They are looking to get close to 10,000 people. We will be in Section 102 Row D Seats 5-6 if anyone want to stop by. I will have on a Connecticut away (blue) game sweater from two years ago #18 with the name Krygier on the back. Please stop by. We have been waiting for this night for 25 years.

Good luck with the Hockey East slate, although undeniably one of the toughest leagues, UConn gets to start it's first year when the league as a whole is slightly less talented than in recent years (early departures are killing teams). Beat BC!

If UConn starts winning consistently they will top Hockey East in average attendance......the "Syracuse" of Hockey East.
