UAH @ tUMD: Hide your kids...hide your wife...

My observation with UAH, they're are solid team in the sense they understand their roles and execute on the systems well. For the record they have, they don't make the glaring mistakes that I have seen "bad" teams make before. The difference between UMD and UAH seemed to be the experience and quality of the players. UAH's players made sound decisions, but being >75% underclassman they weren't at times able to keep up with the #1 team. Should the program continue, I hope this group of players can have the opportunity to play within a conference soon.

Glad that is over. UMD took care of business but did it in an ugly way. UAH took it too UMD in the 1st and 2nd, but UMD tightened up defensively in the 3rd. That was the best period of the weekend. Didn't play their best (especially defensively tonight, way too passive) but still came out with a sweep. Credit to UAH who did play well this weekend and made UMD earn it. Saunders is very good and the team seems to have come together. I think they could steal a game or two the rest of the way out.

Good win but this team has to figure out the power play - or am I nit picking?

Re: UAH @ tUMD: Hide your kids...hide your wife...

You are correct...the power play and PK both are looking weak right now. Special teams are a big part of the game. That is the most concerning part about this team right now, but overall I think Dog fans should enjoy being on top.

Good to see the young kids coming along, they're playing with much confidence after the break.

So much for beating our guys by a dozen. ;) My best hope was for a Friday night split, as Clarke has a habit of being great on Friday and solvable on Saturday, but that didn't happen. The team has progressed as the year has gone on to be sure: goals are up, spirits are up, and now we're keeping the program.

We never have had a ton of fans on USCHO, which reflects two things: 1) our students work hard to figure out how to put things in space and 2) it's Alabama, and our Internet's slowed down so we can read it.
