UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

Chris Heisenberg is reporting that you guys picked up a commitment from a big forward, Nelson Gadoury, from Camrose of the AJHL. He's a 95 birth date, so he would be for next season.

Ex-Quinnipiac recruit. Huge PIM's guy.

Totals the last 4 years not including this one. 178, 148, 128, 108

He'll fit right in!

Between Gadoury and Connor James, UAH is probably 2/3 done with recruiting. We have to find a replacement for Carmine.

Do you think that this means Beaulieu will spend another year in juniors? With the addition of Larson and now Gadoury, we'll have 16 forwards next year not including walk-on James Block. Beaulieu would make 17. He's a 96 so he could certainly go back.

AND the bigger question, you think Carmine leaves after this year?

I hadn't really thought about Beaulieu, but yeah, maybe he goes back.

As for Carmine: his birthday is 02/20/1992. He played in the CCHL the day after his 21st birthday (a 38-save shutout) and seven more of the final ten games in the Hawkesbury Hawks' 2012-13 regular season. It's my understanding that the school is going to appeal for a fourth year, but I don't expect one to be forthcoming.

Yet another one from the AJHL: Levi Wunder, forward, Drumheller Dragons, 10/11/1996. 12-20-22 in 22 games so far this season.

BGSU is an excellent blueprint for the Herd to follow. Hopefully, in the coming years, we can experience similar success.

Big tilt tonight. Soquila, Poulsen, and Gorowsky are all out. Carlson playing forward, which I think will be a more common occurrence from here on out.

Interested to see what the Houcher-Dunn-Kestner line can do. We really need a second scoring line to step up.

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

Not entirely sure BG deserved that win, but we'll take it!

Also... Larose with the glove... all.the.time.

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

You have to question Corbett going with the two goalie system deal again. I realize Carmine didn't play as well the first couple of weekends but we have to establish who our number one goalie is. I'm tired of seeing us on the losing side of games like last night, we should've took that game. Kestner took a really dumb penalty in OT which led to the GWG, we have to be better than that.

Re: UAH Hockey 2015-16: The next step

I think that there were a number of saves last night that Matt made that Carmine wouldn't have. To get to a one-goalie system, one is going to have to distance themselves. It's just now that BG is making Nell the #1.

Had our chances. Didn't capitalize. Bowling Green did.

All I can think of now is Wednesday and Friday. Gotta beat Bemidji.
