I see the trade off …………….. “Honey if I take you to Maui for a week can I drive to _airbanks by myself during February when it’s – 40 below and hang out with all my buddies for 3 day’s" ? I have a good tent.

10 days in a tent at -40 in the burg on the edge of nowhere will for sure freeze your brain.
Maybe you can pick up a tent heater while shopping with the dump bears at one of the transfer stations.

Just to update:
they just recently replaced that Commodore 64 (deemed too slow) with a 1987 model Tandy 1000 Series.
This has brought them up to what in _airbanks passes for up to date.
Now the only thing holding them back is a lack of dimes to feed the pay phone for what in the burg on the edge of nowhere is considered a speedy connection.

Far north maybe ............. but 358 miles northeast of normal according to the Alaska State Troopers show, it changes. .......Meth and Crack is the gold and fur of _airbanks with stolen firewood as change if needed for the transaction.
You should know by now that gold and wolf pelts are the preferred currency of the far north.

Fairview, an area not ashamed of the F in their name like some hockey teams are ashamed of their hometown. Home of Scotty Gomez, a first class hospital and a regional airport. All things which are missing from the burg on the edge of nowhere.
Clean fresh air, not an outdoors woodstove to be seen. But they are lacking in a dump to scavenge in, like several areas in _airbanks.
All in all a fairly American place.

Pretty sure Gomez, the airport, and hospital are in Airport Heights.

In Fairview, unlike Greater _airbanks Area. ........ You can go and knock on any door and solicit to use their toilet and you will experience a flush toilet and running hot water to wash your hands.
In both places you might want to pack some paperwork and a clean long sleeve carhart shirt to dry off on, but for the most part likely not needed.
