The schedules thread has ASU rumored to be playing UAA. Unsure who will be hosting.

Current schedule:
Denver will be playing at UAA on October 2/3
UAA will be playing at Michigan on October 9/10
UAA will be playing at Wisconsin (????)

At this rate we'll be lucky to get 5 wins again.

It would have been nice to sprinkle some Atlantic hockey teams in there.

The rest of the schedule will probably be mostly filled against other independents and governors cup.

Maybe Maryville will travel up for a series against Anchorage and Fairbanks

They must be going D1, why else would he go Western-UAA-OSU? Is Matt joining as Assistant down there?

Yes I’ve heard that Maryville will be coming to Fairbanks, so maybe UAA as well.

Only 6 games for Gov cup this year. Assume it’ll be 2 home, 2 away and then the home and home like some years past.

It's times like this I wish The Don was still alive, I'd love to hear his thoughts over a beer, or three lol.

Someone on the college hockey reddit posted this link to the FY 24-25 operating budgets. They sent FOIA requests to all of the schools, and compiled the information on a sheet. It only shows 30 schools, but it does have both Alaska's on there.

The average annual spend is around the $2.5 million mark, but some schools are spending double, or even triple that. Michigan State is spending over $9million annually, with $1.3mil going to the head coach alone.

Fairbanks is in the top 20 (of the 30 listed), and spends $2.8 mil annually. Of that, $652,000 is for travel.

From 23-24 to 24-25 UAA reported a $768,000 (~27%) decline in spending. I couldn't figure out why, but my guess is that the higher budget was to cover operating expenses after the reinstatement.

Also, UAA is rumored to be playing Lake Superior State.

I think prior to the 23-24 season was the construction of the "party" deck that renders seats with not a full view of the ice sheet, what a stupid idea that was. Might have also been an action item to reduce costs. No idea, just spit balling, like our new head coach and Tanya Pont's public speaking.

YouTube is still listed as video, and LSSU has an away broadcast for radio, our hockey team still doesn't. I know Tuttle's been pushing for that, I'm really not happy with the current administration and the treatment of the hockey team.
